Packing is overrated. Send him as is - we'll ship the rest later. |

Oh sweet baby Jesus PLEASE let this happen!!!
We should make our voices felt about this by donating money to Marshall to help pay for M'A's 1st year salary there. Dead ass serious.
If the Laker fans worldwide all gave Marshall at least one dollar, it would easily cover his 1st year salary and take his current contract off Jeanie and Jimmy's books all while setting a sports precedence that says "US" the fans run this and "NOT" the owners or cable networks. REAL (bleep).
It would be radical to say the least.... _________________ Whenever the Lakers benefit all of a sudden rules need to be changed and trades need to be blocked.

Not sure how soon Marshall has to fill their coaching spot, but if it's very quick, then they might have to move on. We'll see. |
Or we'll let him go now ahead of schedule. |
It's possible. But based on how the front office has seemed to avoid "panic move" type situations in recent months, my guess is that even if they do let MDA go, they will want to follow through with their original plan and do so after the season ends.
That doesn't mean some back channel negotiations couldn't happen with Marshall and MDA (which could potentially also involve the Lakers). In fact, if the Lakers want to get rid of MDA, they could have even encouraged Marshall to put this story out. As in, we know we're going to get rid of MDA so why don't you, Marshall, let it be known that you're pursuing him.
We'll find out soon enough. |

Just a thought, this would be a nice opportunity for Dan D'Antoni to head coach his alma matar and be closer to NY.
Maybe Mike can do something about it, as he is on amicable terms with Marshall. |

I've always thought that as a coach Antoni was more suited for the college game. He's shown himself as someone not being able to strike that balance between coach and partnership with most NBA player and at times lacks a basic level of respect that should be given to veterans.
A lot of the things Antoni does in the pros doesn't fly but in the collegiate game would be fine.
He doesn't strike me as a good recuirter though. Not young big man is going to come and play for him given his comments about post play and his treatment of Shaq, Dwight, and Pau. |

He's a great fit for NCAA ball. Wouldn't be suprised if a team he coached won March Madness. |

Can't risk him having second thoughts while he's bumming around the airport, I'll drive him to West Virginia directly and wheel him into the Marshall AD's office. |

Yep, and it sounds like that could be the case. Sounds like something could be in the works, along the lines of what 24 said earlier in the thread regarding a "graceful exit".

Sounds like this could happen. And it might work out just right for all sides.

honestly D'antoni may not be a good NBA coach, but i truly believe that he will make a pretty darn good College coach. These players are young and love to run, also they will be happy that his offense will inflate their stats making them look even better to teams. |
