I hope so. I want to boycott my Lakers until this piece of coaching trash is gone. |

You have to realize that the job was offered to MDA, and if he turned it down it means he probably got word that they would retain him next year. |

maybe MDA gets reassigned to non coaching role so Lakers get something for their money, he has never not had Dan as an assistant |

We could really care less on Lakers getting something for their money. Money is something they have a lot of! We want championships! #JabariParker#futureLaker |

He's under contract still here, Why would he go for another job with a much less salary. I mean Marshall arent giving up $4mill per year for a Coach

Mike Dantoni won't be back, this also means will pursue a big free agent this summer. If Mike would have stayed, we wouldn't have went after any big free agents. Now that he is about sure is gone i think will go after Melo. |

Maybe Mike can do something about it, as he is on amicable terms with Marshall. |
Coach Mike wasn't going to Marshall. He is a Laker.

Get real |
If they Lakers wanted to dump him, they would've notified him ASAP so that he can take another job. They are going to pay him whether they keep him or fire him. Plus if you wanted to fire a coach, the first day after the end of the season is ideal so you can get a head start on your next coaching search before free agency and the NBA draft. The longer they drag this out, the longer it looks unlikely they are going to can him before next season.

Mike stands to make $4M whether Lakers dump him or not.
Dan is probably getting around $1M at most to take the Marshall job.
Mike would rather kick back and wait for another gig that can pay him $3-4M then lock himself into the Marshall gig. _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

Plus NBA jobs are harder to come by than college jobs. While the Marshall job looks good personally for MDA, as a college job it is a rather average job for a college coach. |

Perhaps Dan saw the writing on the wall and bolted. Hopefully this means MDA is next in line. #firethisguyalready |
