At least, Carmelo has been in the playoffs..... Love still hasn't experienced what the playoffs are like because he's more interested in padding his stats.

How is Love a better 3-point shooter when he shoots a lower %?

The question is really... Melo with Exum/Gordon/Noah Vonleh/Smart/Ennis

or Love traded for....

Give me Melo with the prospect in that scenario... but really I'd like Monroe and Stevenson if possible... with the prospect - or even Deng on a one year deal... with Lowry on a long term deal.

fair point.

Love is 38%, (176-464)
Melo is 40%, (165-408).

Love career: 36%
Melo career: 34%.

Exactly.

It's so negligible that you can't sit here and say that Love is a better three point shooter. That are basically even in that department.

Love cannot create his own shot and stinks it up in second halves of games. He is also the worse defender of the two.

Carmelo is a franchise player and can be a number one guy. Kevin Love might be the best number two guy in the league (not actually sure about that), but he is not a number one guy and should not be paid number one money.

But my answer was neither. Rather use the cap space on younger, rising players.

If we were just "picking one up", I would be happy with either.

If we draft Embiid, I'd much rather our power forward be Greg Monroe. That way you can out rebound opponents and kill them on the inside with your bigs, which has often been a succesful Lakers formula.

If Melo/Love were making the same amount, that would be a big factor for me. But from all appearances, it looks like Melo will be making at least $20-23m, which is a good amount over what Love would make. The contract amount is the game changer for me.

The question to me sounds like we are just adding one of the two, no penalties involved for adding them. So I assumed salary is the same, and we give up nothing to get either.

In a pure vacuum, I go with Melo.

But given our salary cap situation, Love fits better in terms of age/salary.

I chose Love because we've seen what Melo can do with other stars on his team. Love has never really played with another star on his team (and please don't say Rubio). It could either be better or worse. But sometimes thats what you have to do, take risks.

If age and contract were equal, I'd take Melo. But since they're not, I'd go with Love. Not thrilled about either.

The real Melo is the one fighting through an injury to try and get his team to the playoffs?

Kevin Love's rebounding alone is championship material, but he brings so much more to the table. He'll space the floor, be tough on the inside, and he has a very high bball IQ.

4. More unselfish then Melo

I agree on that.

I agree on everything except for the improper use of the word "then".

Does it matter which one we have, if Antoni is still the coach? That's a serious question.

Neither at the expense of the draft pick, maybe Love in '15. If he really wants to be here.

No, the real Melo is the guy who tries to take over games but instead, builds a house of bricks.

I concur with this. He brings more elements to the game than Melo.

Good thing KLove has been able to take over games enough to get his teams to the playoffs right?

If you're still trying to make it to the playoffs, in the East this season, your team sucks.
