PG-- Brandon Jennings
SG-- James Harden
SF-- Carmelo Anthony
PF-- Zach Randolph
C-- Pau Gasol

Doesn't quite do it actually. No defense but they would still probably make it barring injury.

PG - Jrue Holiday
SG - Demar Derozan
SF - Joe Johnson
PF - Paul Millsap
C - Pau Gasol

Holiday and Derozan are both chuckers with suspect defense, JJ doesn't bother to turn up 75% of the time, has the least potential impact of all the "all star" pfs an Pau is the leakiest defensive all star center in the nba right now.

Why Milsap over Zach Randolph? Milsap is actually a good defender.

A Randolph/Pau frontcourt would be abysmal on defense.

Rajon Rondo
Monta Ellis
Rudy Gay
Josh Smith
Tim Duncan

Rondo has regressed and is easy to stop. Then, three chuckers and an ancient Tim Duncan outside of Pop's system.

In what alternative universe are Jennings and Gasol all-star caliber players? If we're going with former all-stars, you could plug in Ray Allen for Harden, Mo Williams for Jennings, and Luol Deng for Carmelo. That team wouldn't make the playoffs in the West.

Assuming the point of this thread is to pick a team of current or former (really makes this too easy) all-stars that would not have made the playoffs in this year's Western Conference.

Kobe
KG
Amare
Nash
DRose

Throw all that injured/washed up mess together and we get pretty much the results of this year's Lakers!

Mostly because you could count on at least half 3/5 of the starting lineup to be out with an injury on any given night.
