I would take West over Mitch .....

And the no brainer is LG mods over Jim, Joey, Jesse, however we know the Busses would have the advantage because Jim would use 10 guy's in the local bar to assist him, and of course Chaz is now a seasoned scout.

Goofy, sarcastic answer: City_Dawg (as the GM) with postandpivot (as President) and venturalakersfan (as the owner). City_Dawg negotiates the deals, postandpivot provides input and signs off and venturalakersfan gives the final approval for all deals . I wonder if any deal would ever be completed?

Serious answer: I can be just as much of an armchair GM and owner as any of us, at times, but come on... none of us would have any clue what we would be doing in Mitch and Jim's respective chairs. Yes... Antoni and Brown were bad hires. Yes... the Nash trade was a bad trade. I also have very little faith in Jim Buss as an owner. But both of them are still far more qualified than any of us.

with either Guggenheim, AEG or Larry Ellison providing funds, Pat Riley runs the basketball operations (Jim Buss' role) and Mitch still the GM. please don't wake me up from this dream.

10 YEAR, 250 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT FOR KOBE!

On a less serious note, give me the Busses and the "Magic Wand" Mitch option.

If we had to use forum members, this is probably what I'd go with. Maybe 24 in there as GM.

Voices is Jim Buss. He wants the world to hate him so he can be the hero.

He is the hero we need, but not the one we deserve right now.

He is the dark knight. The world's greatest detective. The caped crusader. The batman.

What is with the WE stuff, I'm the GM and I consulted my coach kikanga, and said that he wanted no part of LAKERSCMXCIX, so we agreed to take Smushcalade, your defense is terrible.

I think it would be more like:

24: Give us LeBron.

Pat Riley: [suave Riley reply]

24: [fierce comeback that systematically deconstructs Riley's logic]

Riley: [begins audibly whimpering into phone, offers up Miami's big 3 in exchange for Kent Bazemore]

I bet you guys that these poll results will be discussed on the next Mason and Ireland.

Ireland: "So Mason, how about this story, have you heard that Lakers fans, when given the option, would choose some random guy off the street to run the Lakers 31% of the time over the Buss family?"
