The 2013 TPups had a total of 339 games missed by their players due to injury or illness, an NBA record. This past season the Lakers missed 317 games for the same reasons, and are #2 on the list.

A sad chapter in our history on all levels is now closed; hopefully next season will at minimum be a far healthier one.

Lakers have to shake up the training/medical team. i know it's not completely their fault but something needs to be done here.

And yet we get people clamoring for Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, two players who are the opposite of iron men. That is what I find so baffling.

Embiid hasn't shown a history of being injury prone like Love and Irving have. I give Love props for staying healthy this season, I think it is more likely he plays more games than Irving in the future.

re: Embiid, he just started playing ball. And he already missed a sizeable chunk of games his first year in college ball. He is talented, but he is also a risk too.

Lets fire the training staff too. Cleanse everything that made this the saddest two seasons I've seen with the injury curse.

I don't think that is completely accurate. Mike Trudell mentioned on twitter the Raptors had 519 games missed due to injury in a season.

Quote:
@LakersReporter
Toronto with an absurd 519 in 2002-03. RT @GiftedAndLifted: @LakersReporter what’s the highest and which team and year?

Quote:
@LakersReporter
The final games-missed-to-injury number for the 2013-14 @Lakers: 319. That’s among the highest totals since tracked in the 1980’s.
