Did he make enough of an impact to be displayed in eternity with the laker greats? |

Probably.
Though I admit that my opinion of players that willingly choose to leave the Lakers isn't as high as those that left through trade. |

Well to be fair to Pau, our FO screwed it up. Pau has been on rumors year after year and has been the scapegoat from coaches and the fanbase. He didn't deserve most of it and it really takes a toll.
He'll be up there no doubt, well deserved. |

Not a chance. B. Scott's isn't up there and he won more and was just as important to the team as Pau. |

If I remember correctly Byron was never an All-Star and doesn't have the international basketball accomplishments that Pau does. I'm very confident Pau will be in the HOF, and therefore have his jersey retired. _________________ http://tinyurl.com/zhjax5w

Considering Pau and Dirk are the top players to come out of europe also, I'd say yes and very deserving. |

I think only if he makes it to the Hall of Fame, he has a chance. We typically don't hang jerseys of non-hall of famers... _________________ ♪ ♫One good thing about music, when it hits, you feel no pain...

Yes. Absolutely. It won't go up as fast as Shaq's did or Kobe's will but it will be up there. I believe the Grizzlies should extend him the same honor; he's still one of their all-time greats. _________________ Lakers, today. Lakers, tomorrow. Lakers, forever. |

Of course he will one could argue in both championship series he was actually the MVP, while Bryant was clearly the MVP for both over all runs. He is also perhaps the most accomplished european PF/C in the league, and beyond that through all the ups and downs Pau has by and large represented the Lakers very well, he deserves to be up there |

It's pretty simple. If he gets into the Hall of Fame, his jersey will be retired.
That's the Laker policy,
For guys who are sure HOFers (like Shaq), they retire the jersey before he gets in the Hall. For borderline guys (like Jamaal Wilkes), they wait until he's inducted.
Pau is borderline, so it will take until 5 years after he reties to know for sure.
So you could just as well make this question whether people think Pau will get in the Hall of Fame. |
