Would, anyone be interested in swapping the pick for Monroe? the Pistons having 2 lottery picks could force them to do it.

Not exactly news and not exactly well phrased interpretation of a brief quote.
Of course Mitch isn't going to rule out trading the pick, but in no way did he indicate they were interested in doing so. He simply acknowledged that it was an option. Nothing more and nothing less.

Exactly. Mitch often makes statements about keeping options open. _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.

True. We don't even know what pick they'll have. If they end up getting the first pick or the 7th pick that totally changes what deals are worth it or not. It may not have been the intent, but this is a good thread for those wishing to paint Mitch as a short sighted villain.

I would expedite the rebuilding process by trading the pick if Kobe was 28 yrs old, the best player on the planet and we had a real shot at winning the title. I would not trade the pick just so a 36 year old Kobe coming off major injury can "compete."

There are other options though as well. Such as, trading the pick to get a surefire allstar rather than taking a gamble at potentially hopefully getting one.

Mitch doesn't toss stuff out like this for gamemanship. He is giving some thought about not tossing next year onto the rebuild pile. Since we don't know what the pick will be yet not a bad idea, even though we should most likely keep it.
