So you got Mitch telling Kobe through the media that he's got no choice on who the coach is, and to deal with it.
I think the Knicks have a better team than us, and they've got Phil calling the shots. I could see this happening.
It would kill me though. |

if this deal goes down, Lakers should give Phil 5% of ownership after his Knick's gig is up, and Jeanie Buss should voluntarily be Phil's f*ck buddy for rest of Phil's life. |

Is this serious? the Knicks are a mess, are you really expecting Phil to clean up what is left over? the Knicks need to rebuild and will probably take them a few seasons just to have any sort of success... the Lakers are in a better position. |

The Knicks may need to rebuild, but they also play in the East. They could patch their team and still contend. Swapping Kobe for Melo and bringing in some other pieces could work for them.
I definitely don't want it to happen. But if the front office stands pat like they are giving indications they will....I can see Kobe getting pissed. |

Before writing off the trade read and digest this I get the impression the Lakers, though giving Kobe a extension, are more intune with keeping D''Antoni, Jim's boy, than they are Kobe. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

No flipping way this goes down.
From a basketball standpoint it would be a great trade for the Lakers.
From a career perspective... it'd be awful. I've watched Kobe, as have many here, the whole way... swap Kobe for Melo and the Lakers still aren't winning a title. No need to spoil the legacy. No need to pull an MJ playing on the Wizards type moment. _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? If you know PM me please
I would be willing to pay you for it. |

He did on his previous contract, does he still on this current 2 year deal?
.... regardless, Kobe can obviously waive the clause if he so chooses.... all it would mean is that Kobe has the FINAL say on where he might go.... _________________ Rule = win titles
