Hilarious. Trout is not the best player in baseball. He might get there, but not yet.

Yes, he is.

Yup, and it's not even close really.

Nope not really

Trout is baseball's K Love. Pretty stats but 0 playoff appearances. And he is not better than Miggy.

Dunno why you are even comparing two completely different sports. In baseball no matter how good you are, the impact of a single player to alter a teams record is pretty miniscule.

Even if the two sports could be compared, Love is a terrible comparison. When have you ever heard him in an MVP conversation? Trout was runner-up each of the last two years. And he's only 22.

That is actually a pretty good comparison. Baseball MVP =/= NBA MVP. If you put up monster stats in baseball even on a bad team, you're more than likely going to be MVP. Do it in basketball and no one's even talking about you for MVP.

Really? Some people think Trout is a once-in-a-generation or even several generations player. The numbers he's put up, at the age he is, are unheard of. Hence some going all the way back to Mays and Mantle for a comparison. He's a potentially transcendent player. Who's talking about Kevin Love like that?

okay, getting really off-topic.

That's nice, but the comparison is that he's putting up great stats and not making the playoffs, not what other people are saying about them. You seem to be trying real hard to find a reason why they shouldn't be compared.

I'd say my effort is equitable to yours in making sure that they are compared, but I have no issue with that. It's fun to discuss.

Not unless Miguel Cabrera died.

The hype for Trout is ridiculous. Not even close to being the best in baseball, let alone the best athlete in CA.

miguel cabrera is just a better offensive player than trout....trout is all around better player than miggy

Who in the (bleep) is Mike Trout?

I honestly can't associate a face to that name. And if I hadn't read the thread I wouldn't know his profession either.

Gotta love it when GP defends Kobe. Trout's great and all and arguably the best baseball player in the league, but it's still Kobe's town.

It's still Kobe's town because Trout isnt in his (bleep) town. I dont care what anyone says, Trout is in Anaheim, not LA. And (bleep) the Angels by the way.

I agree... both Angels and Clippers belong somewhere else

ITT: lots of bitter dodger fans who would be singing a totally different tune if Trout was on their team... don't worry though, you have Puig and his nightly meltdowns
