ZBO? I wouldn't mind him for 1 year if we drafted a wing, PG, or center.

I think that is a pretty crappy website. I would consider it if they gave us their pick at 22. Not sure it makes sense for Memphis other than to save money. They supposedly want scoring, and will trade their top scorer to do that?

Z bo back in the line up would have made a big difference for the Griz in game 7 for their style I actually don't see Pau as a better fit than Z bo so I am not sure why the Griz would do that

Not a bad option if you want a 1 year placeholder for Kevin Love, while still competing in 2014.

Say you have a relatively healthy Kobe, ZBo, plus Exum (or Smart), or Wiggins/Embiid. You can also plug in a few more free agents at the MLE level too if you want.

Too much cap, but if they threw in a first for this season I'd want the Lakers to do it.

I doubt Memphis would still want to do it at that point, but they'd likely get some notable financial savings... due to the fact that Pau isn't going to get paid what Zach's deal is.

That or if they'd take on Nash as well and provide maybe a role player the Lakers like... that'd be interesting too.

Memphis would have an incentive - Z-Bo is too "Memphis" for Memphis. He LOVES and is LOVED BY the thug element in Memphis, which is problematic given the situations faced by other athletes in Memphis (Lorenzen Wright - murdered, Taylor Bradford - murdered, Shawne Williams - drug trafficking charges, etc.).

Hate to see Pau go but Zbo would actually be a good move. You get something of value for a declining player who seems to have lost his zest for the game. Maybe that was caused by MDA. Now that he's gone I wonder if Pau's zeal will return. A change of venue may be good for both players.

Ether way I'd go with Zbo.

This falls in the category of "that would be cute" trade speculations from people that would like the brothers to play together. Pau, even at his age > Zbo

This only makes sense if the Lakers decide to not renounce Pau and keep his 20+ million or so cap hold. This wouldn't leave us much left for signing free agents though. So if the Lakers do this, they better be pretty damn sure that we are not getting LBJ and that they don't want to sign somebody like Melo, Lowry or Stephenson and they obviously would have to commit to not securing Love by not trading for him this season.

I don't want Lin and Asik as that would mean taking on 30M in salary. If we do that we should get a 1st round pick.

Instead how about we get Asik and a 1st, Memphis gets Gasol and Lin, and Houston gets Randolph?

Houston is stingy. And we don't really have leverage when it comes to Gasol.

As for Lin and Asik, only 8m each counts towards the cap, so it would be less than if we had Zbo.

Rumors of Randolph being waived. Keeping the cap in mind, go after Zbo with a partial waiver claim. It doesn't make sense to me to take on $18,238,333. Zbo's not worth that much, especially with his anger management problems.

Where did you hear that? I think they would try and trade him to get something back rather than waive him.

I got sign and trade mixed with waive. My Bad.....

If they do a sign and trade, who is the third team involved and wouldn't Zach have to agree to the trade?

I'm not buying this rumor, the Grizzlies will not trade Randolph for Pau. He's a much better player then Pau. I wouldn't want him though because it would take up too much of the cap. I wouldn't mind Asik in some type of 4 way deal if possible but not Lin.
