I'd like Randolph but I have 2 concerns about him: his age, even though he is not built like a Gasol who ages fast in his game, and his salary, which is quite huge.
But even his age, for one or 2 years, hell yeah.

$16.5M for next year... We can see it that way: it's way less than what Gasol did that year, and Randolph isn't a lot less good than Gasol. But it doesn't let a lot of room maybe.

I would do it I think.

Because Nash does not come off the books until after the 2014 season it would not be a bad thing to have Z banging down low, he would at least give the Lakers a physical scorer to go along with Kobe's inside outside play. Half court offense would work for Kobe and Z. It seems like 2015 is the big chance for the Lakers to land a big name FA, so renting Z for a season would at least give the Lakers a player that brings it every night, and would be a good mentor for the Lakers draft pick, a guy that a young player can learn to be a pro from.

It would be "fun" to have Z for a year he would be a fan favorite immediately.

Same here. If Pau wants to go there to play with his bro, Zbo isn't a bad trade at all.

I would much rather add pieces for the future with our cap room (up to the limit that allows us a max guy next year) rather than dumping a huge pile of our cap room on a rental of one guy.

If you want to do the ZBo trade, you send him on to HOU for Lin and Asik

Oh yeah, getting Lin is for sure interesting... No sorry, I can't.
I just can't get why people want this guy.
Don't get caught into the NBA hype. The NBA hyped him only for a business thing.

That is logical since Zach will be 33 this Summer.

Not sure if the Grizzlies would want to deal with a team in the same division.

Just watching the bigs out there, Ibaka, Jordan, Griffin, Bosh, etc., how does Pau even play effective big man ball against these guys from next year on? Game is just so much faster for him now.

Pau to Memphis

Randolph to Houston

Lin & Asik to LAL

I don't want Lin and Asik as that would mean taking on 30M in salary. If we do that we should get a 1st round pick.

Instead how about we get Asik and a 1st, Memphis gets Gasol and Lin, and Houston gets Randolph?

I would take Lin and Asik if they included a first round pick. Though I think that if Houston were to trade that package, they would prefer a target other than Randolph on a one year contract.

He only counts $8.3 against the cap and expires at the end of the season. A good price for a young player or draft pick from Houston as well.

I don't know if they could get someone better than Randolph for that package.

Randolph would be more useful there than Asik and Lin and is also an expiring which is good as they have to pay Parsons soon.

They could trade that package to us and have cap space for someone like Melo.

I like the idea of a Pau for Randolph trade if that means that you are bringing in say Ed Davis with him. They played well next to each other. I just think there are better uses for that kind of cash.

Please don't get Randolph. You can just do Pau for Davis

It's a possibility, but I don't see why you need a trade for that.

Not sure Memphis will want to pay Pau $17-18m a year.

Z-Bo is LOVED by the THUG ELEMENT in Memphis??

SMH.

I live in Memphis and Z-Bo is beloved by the ENTIRE city, black and white, because of his charity work and community involvement in the city, which is another reason why he and Marc are so popular. Of course, Pau and Marc both have ties to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (which makes sense with their family's medical background), while Zach has been deeply involved with the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA), which has no gang ties or anything, but serves the underserved communities.

Your ignorance here is just staggering.

http://www.ahumblesoul.com/1/post/2014/03/zach-randolph-talks-community-assistance-fund.html

And besides, Zach said he wants to retire in Memphis and is willing to take a pay cut to stay.

David can NOT play Center, has no offensive skills and you want to trade PAU for him straight up??

In what world does that make sense??

Mitch would not be that stupid, and neither would Wallace.
