I don't remember what insignia the actor was wearing but you only need to be a Commander in the U.S. Navy to command a sub. "Captain" is an honorary title bestowed while in command. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

That was like three episodes of stuff in one episode.

Too bad they wasted most of the season on terrorist mom. |

All these years I've watched "24" I didn't realize it was all on future timelines.

I think the show is simply set "in the near future" and the official years are unspecified or understated for casual viewers, since the timeline suggests Jack must be in his mid-to-late 50s at this point. _________________ -Avenue of the Champions- -RIP Dr Buss- #824 |

Damn, that timeline is really messed up. I had no idea of that too. I just thought it was close to real timeline.
Anyway, from the official listings we still have 3 episodes left:
11 - Day 9: 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m
12 - Day 9: 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 a.m
and there's supposedly a 13th episode named "Jack and Chloe", and the time jump is to occur within this episode. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

What we learned this week:
Russian goons are lousy shots. However, they are willing to keep missing shots even while they are on fire. I guess that makes up for it.
British soldiers are sort of dense. Just a few hours after a big terrorist threat against London, a bunch of armed Chinese guys searching the woods by a deserted road doesn't seem strange. (For that matter, how do you get to a deserted country road in London in about 15 minutes?)
Jack actually has a limited amount of self-control. Bauerizing the White House Chief of Staff in front of the President? Naw, Jack isn't that rogue, especially when he can Bauerize the guy after sending him on a high-risk mission.
The Chinese have an aircraft carrier off of Gibraltar. Apparently, it has no escorts. However, there is live media coverage within minutes after it starts to sink.
Secret meetings with foreign contacts are always handled outdoors. And they are so secret that the Real Bad Guy can have a sniper in place only minutes after the meeting is arranged. Hmm. Do we have another mole? One more hour isn't enough time -- even in the 24 universe -- to deal with that. Unless, of course, Audrey is the mole due to some weird sort of brainwashing.
America needs Chloe. She would have had the license plate number and VIN of that Chinese truck. She would have hacked that alarm system. Heck, she would have just hacked the Russkie's computer and gotten all the information we needed.
So now we're down to one episode, and we know that someone is going home in a flag draped casket. Audrey? Boudreau? Heller? Kate? I say it's Heller, with Jack covering for Boudreau to "protect" Audrey. "Take good care of her, or I'll toss you out the window like Hermione's mom." Corny, but Jack's always been the guy to take one for the team.
Will World War III break out on Okinawa? Naw. Even Jack wouldn't fix that in an hour. Now, give him two hours, and it's a different ballgame. |

My favorite episode of the season.

I loved how the military guy specified to the president that Okinawa is in Japan, as if it's some obscure island, while they're looking at a map of Japan/Korea/Northeastern China. Writers assume much of the audience doesn't know it. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid! |

Love the recaps brotha . Lol i'm hoping Audrey lives and she ends up with Jack...or Kate ends up with Jack. Dude needs a good woman in his life that won't get shot or die on him . The best part was seeing Boudreau/Audrey's hubby, (bleep) his pants the entire episode until Jack walks in and demands to speak with him and the Prez "privately" haha . Heller was so non-chalant when that happened. |

Naw, Audrey can't end up with Jack. That would be a happy ending, and Jack doesn't get happy endings. Likewise, Kate's way too hot. I won't be shocked if she winds up taking a bullet and going out like Renee Walker. Jack needs Chloe. America needs Jack and Chloe. "Damn it, Chloe, you look like a raccoon." |

That's right. They have to keep Jack's anger up in case there's another sequel. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

The time skip comes during the next episode. The shot of the flag-draped coffin in the preview looked like it was during daylight.
New gonzo theory: Jack will get "killed off" in episode 12, and his "body" will go back to America in a flag draped coffin. Of course, the coffin will be empty (or have a throw down corpse inside). Jack will be dead, but really in hiding, just like Cheng Zhi. Audrey will go back to Boudreau, Kate will go back to America, and Chloe will go back to the forest and live with the other raccoons. Jack will go to some Eastern European hellhole to fight the Enemies of Humanity. He will sit up nights looking at pictures of his daughter and grandchildren. |

Why can't you spin it like... the TV pans out with a figure on a hill side painting landscapes...then it zooms it w/Jack Bauer living the secluded life of a tortured artist. _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

in the preview, you do see Kate showing up where Audrey is and going balls out with her gun...so maybe she does take a bullet |

Yep. The preview gives lots of hints has to who might be in the coffin -- Audrey, Kate, Heller. That's why I'm looking for the curveball of a fake Jack death. Jack can go pursue bad guys in Eastern Europe until his brother Mycroft comes and brings him home. If they make another series, maybe Chloe can head butt him for not telling her that he was still alive. Naw, never mind. Chloe would just find him on a dashboard camera or something. |

It definitely sounds farfetched that Cheng, just minutes ago had to abandon Chloe so he could get I'm assuming to a port/dock in time, only for him to suddenly have someone available to take out Audrey's secret contact (which she only told her father and some white house staff members).
If they had at least 3-4 more episodes to go, I can totally go for another mole. But with just 1 left... bleh.
Love 24 to hell and back but sometimes we all have to sit back and just say, "WTF?" (in a good way) _________________
