Yeah yeah I know, Bleacher Report yada yada...
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2090329-report-denver-nuggets-shopping-no-11-pick-in-2014-nba-draft
Quote: | The Denver Nuggets have some options going into the 2014 draft, and they're apparently exploring them.
According to The Denver Post's Christopher Dempsey, "The Nuggets have already taken — and made — their fair share of trade phone calls concerning their draft pick weeks ahead of the NBA draft."
Per Dempsey, general manager Tim Connelly admitted, "We've had a lot of conversations about a ton of different things — picks, trades. We're pretty active right now."
Denver holds the No. 11 selection in this summer's draft, which stands to be very attractive to any number of teams looking to either move up in the draft or move down and secure an additional pick. The Nuggets could look acquire a veteran by trading with the former, or to move up in the draft by dealing with the latter.
"Trading the selection for a veteran and moving up in the draft are the two areas of most interest to the Nuggets," Dempsey suggests.
That makes a good deal of sense. The last thing the organization needs is another middling prospect; The roster is already stocked with plenty of young talent. At this point, it really needs either a difference-maker or some elder leadership.... |

It is always frustrating to hear another team wants to trade a pick because the Lakers have nothing to offer.
I have been saying it for a while now, the Lakers and many fans have become rich snobs who think they ought to be able to throw their money at items they want. We have been operating like that for so long that now when we need talent, all we have is money. We let talent walk away for nothing. We let assets walk away for nothing.
THe Lakers are chasing names even if it simply guarentees us mediocrity. The worst place to be in the NBA is a .400-.550% team. That is what the Laker will be if they keep throwing money around. In other words, we will be mediocre for the forseeable furure. If we are going to be bad, lets be bad with young, fresh talent. |

Lakers would love that pick...we could end up with a Randle/Payton,
Smart/Gordon type combo to build with. _________________ Back to Back Yeah, Yeah...and you know that!
