Gonna need a D-Man this time around it feels like. Complete carousel back there this season with Slav losing his mind, and the rest of pairings falling to injuries one way or the other.
Really miss having Scuds and Mitchell back there like in 2012. |
Oh yea, that's a must. Wish Doughty could score more goals to help dissipate the EC bias. But he's being called more to help that rotating roster of D-men. |
Can't think of a sport where EC media bias has a bigger influence than the NHL sadly. Doughts has 19 points in 33 games, plays half the game, plays world class defensive, plays all special teams brilliantly...Just going to have to accept the fact it's going to be near impossible for Norris trophies to make their way over here to him. |

You son of a (bleep), I'm jealous. Those 2 PP goals were sexy on TV, can't imagine how they looked in person. |

Maybe it was better I was watching this one on TV then. (bleep)...
What a (bleep) sorry ass effort after that 3-0 lead. Way to piss away a point. |

Kings have not played well against Calgary for a while now. Not surprised to see them lose to them. Still, choking away a lead like that is inexcusable. This is a team that was lights out with the lead in the third period, but this season they've given up the lead at least twice so far. Lombardi may have to look at making a trade for a quality D-man. |

Completely shat the bed. I know the Kings won't get into gear until spring, but this should've been and initially seemed like an easy win.

Yea. Regehr just got placed on IR. Team is lacking for some veteran blueliners. So far, rumors are connecting us with Andrej Sekera, Keith Yandle and Braydon Coburn. I doubt the Peyotes will send Yandle in-division for anything less than a King's ransom (pun intended). Sekera and Coburn more likely. I guess we could use room for another ex-Flyer... _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

Sekera would be nice. Yandle would help replace some of the offense missing with Voynov unavailable, but he's not great defensively, which I think the Kings would be focusing more. |

Yandle's definitely sub-par defensively. He is the bigger name but I'm hoping we go with someone like Sekera or Coburn. After reading more on Coburn, I really hope we get another ex-Flyer. Very good on the penalty kill, great at preventing opponents possessions, and has great size and physicality. Makes a few dumb turnovers but that's commonplace on the Flyers. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

http://www.ocregister.com/articles/voynov-646513-kings-game.html
Quote: | EL SEGUNDO – The Kings will make history Monday, although not in a way any team would hope.
While his teammates are in Calgary, preparing for a game, Kings defenseman Slava Voynov is scheduled to be in a Torrance courtroom to be arraigned on one felony count of domestic assault.
Voynov, suspended by the league since his Oct.20 arrest, will miss his 31st consecutive game. That’s the longest suspension for any player, for any reason, in the NHL’s modern era. Only Boston’s Billy Coutu, who received a lifetime ban because of an on-ice brawl in 1927, has served a longer punishment. |
Wish we can just cut him without penalty and go get a veteran who will actually be on the ice. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

That alone is enough. It's how the pieces fell together in place. We got a 2nd Stanley Cup because of that so I don't worry about those "what if" situations. _________________

The point was, we could've gotten more. Maybe even someone who could've stepped up in Voynov's absence this year. Columbus can't keep bailing us out like that. Hopefully Dean has a few plans to get a D-man especially after this loss to the Predators in yielding 7 goals. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

Yessh, yea. We need a D-man by trade deadline. Absolutely needed. |
Regehr is missed dramatically also. Muzzin, Martinez are taking on too many minutes. Same with DD, regardless of how good he is. |

Tis a shame with Drew. Though at least he's gotten the nod to the All-Star game, without stats, none of the EC biased writers will notice. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

This team is (bleep) with my emotions. I've never seen a group just either yield or create large amounts of goals in such short stretches like this. There's literally no rhyme or reason to what they're doing out there. |

Kings are being hit hard with the injury bug... just like the bad old times. Hopefully this doesn't become the trend again. At the very least the Kings will get a look at some of their younger players. Too bad the players have screwed around for much of the season and didn't build up enough of a cushion to soften the blows to the roster. |

Yea, though the youngsters are unfortunately enduring some bad growing pains. Lack of defense, defensive depth, and derp in the back end is killing us. In the 2 SC years, we were top 3 in GAA. This year, 10th and sliding hard after the past few games of 5+ goals allowed. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif
