Just need to right the ship and be sure to make the playoffs. Then unleash the hammer physical style AGAIN and reign supreme.

Shootout woes are bizarre. Thank goodness they aren't part of the playoffs (which they do need to right the ship and actually qualify for.). Definitely like how the team was cycling and checking last night, but we really do need to start getting some pieces back, and DL also needs to add that Top-4 defensemen.

Yeah. Deking, sniping, and speed aren't our forte to begin with, which is likely why we have two Cups. This team is very much like another team that sports black and white, the Spurs. Middling through the regular season only to frustrate opponents in the playoffs. I dare say that if there were no lockout, this would've been a three-peat. As it stands, I hope Dean is active in the trade deadline.

For anyone who's ever been to a Kings game, you'll always see this guy throwing it down on the Jumbotron. Now other players get a chance to have the Chris Sutter experience.

Mike Richards placed on waivers.
It looks like Lombardi got burned over the summer when he trusted that Mike Richards would put up better numbers for the season instead of doing the compliance buyout. Hopefully someone will pick him up off waivers. I think the guy can do very well for a young team looking for leadership as a number 2 center.

It's gonna be real tough for this team to repeat.
Slava's stupidity.
Injuries
Underperformance from everyone
Weak defense
Poor goaltending as of late
And their old nemesis of little offense

I know he's been bad but it still makes me sad. I like all the guys on this team. They seem so tight when they're all together.

Unfortunately I think that concussion he had when he first arrived in LA really set back his ability. He's never been the same. Here and there he flashes signs of the old Mike, but never on a consistent basis. I still think in the right situation he can still help a team. But he's never gonna be the old Mike Richards. Sucks that the Kings are gonna get hit cap wise unless someone picks him up off waivers, which I hope some team does.

On a positive note, Shore gets more time to showcase his ability. Colin Miller looks like the next quality defenseman prospect for the Kings. Hopefully Dean can make some more outstanding deadline deals to get the Kings out of their funk.

Opens up a spot but yeesh, Richards would still be a 4.825 mil cap hit. Unless Dean finds a great veteran D-man for 925k, this was an error in judgment on his part. Should've used the buyout. I doubt a team will pick him up (Nashville and Winnepeg are the likely candidates if there are any). Rumors were that Dean was shopping him so I guess that failed. Still have faith the team can make another reversal of fortunes when it counts.

I don't blame Lombardi for giving the guy another chance. Maybe he'll rediscover his game in the AHL and they can recall him before the playoffs and we see playoff Richards excel, then they can trade him for something during the offseason. That's probably the best case scenario.

More likely, the Kings will have his albatross contract weighing down their salary cap maneuverings. They're most likely gonna dump Voynov any way they can to help free up additional cap space and rely on more young defensemen.

Can't hurt but I hardly believe that was Plan A, B, C, etc.

Just watched Kings cough up another brutal road game loss to Florida.

That is 3 losses in a row on this trip, the Kings are in real danger of not making the playoffs. Not cool.

Pressure's on Dean to make a move for a blueliner, latest in the mill is suggesting Cody Franson. The season hinges on it. You can't make a run with McNabb and McBain replacing Mitchell and Voynov. Not with Doughty, Muzzin, Greene, and Martinez starting to wear down due to minutes, playing out of comfort level, and overuse.

It feels like the Kings made a deal with TWC this season with all injuries and bad luck they've been having.

Time for Lombardi's annual plundering from the Kings minor league...I mean trade partner Columbus Blue Jackets? I request James Wisniewski.

GKG!!! What a game for Toffoli. When the Kings are at their best, they're as good as anybody.

Just hope they turned it on enough and in enough time.

Still need some help on D. Team has turned on the jets, but it feels like they need at least 4 goals to win a game and can't really rely on locking down teams like years passed. Dean needs to get CBJ on the horn and pilfer that henhouse again.

Indeed. 11 straight games of giving up 2 or more. Currently 13th in GAA. That's not good. 2011-12 Cup run we were 2nd, 2013-14 Cup run we were 1st. Hell, the CF loss/strike year we were 7th.

amazing streak. Don't want to jinx it. in the playoffs right now, but a small losing streak could cause a drop to 10th or 11th.

Even with the streak, I still want Dean to shore up the D. We've got a second wind right now but that's not going to hold for long without some help. Regardless, leave it to Sutter to get the most out of the team. Hard to believe he was a mid-season replacement who turned an underachieving team into a perennial SC contender like that.
