Willie Mitchell officially gone as he signs with Florida.
Looking at these what the heck signings, man did Lombardi get a good deal with Gaborik. |
Better Florida than a contender that needed a veteran D. |
I dug Willie Mitchell but I understand sometimes you cant keep every veteran...still, I like the way he came up big in the playoffs, he was steady. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

That's actually pretty good representation considering we don't move the needle in terms of national TV ratings. You'd expect the powerhouses of the Eastern Conference to be featured more regularly because they have more games against each other.

Every Kings/Sharks game is national. Going to be weird not hearing Bob and Jim during those games.
Glad 2 of the 3 games against Chicago are televised on national. Best rivalry the NHL has right now (and has had for awhile). It's a modern day Colorado-Detroit 90's rivalry minus the brawls. These battles have to be showcased. |

Regardless, everything NBC does is bound to fail. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

Yep. And the coverage by NBC has been just abysmal. They have really done the NHL a disservice with their horrible sports coverage. |

I just watched a bunch of the replays of last years playoff run and I can't wait for this season to start. The puck drops on the preseason in 10 days... |

Same here. They replayed the epic Kings/Hawks series twice the last couple of days. It was seriously that amazing. Best series I've personally ever seen in any professional sport. Still remember how (bleep) pissed I was when Kane scored in the final 2 minutes of Game 6 and we had to go back to Chicago. Only time I've ever thrown something across the room at the wall. I'll take that last laugh up in the United Center though.
Can't wait to get this season roaring. Team is loaded and is absolutely good enough to be the first team to repeat in 16 years. Still need to try and snag some tickets for the banner raising game on Oct. 8th. |

The first OT in game 5 was the best 20 minutes of hockey in terms of game flow. Back and forth with little stoppage in play and great scoring chances coupled with great saves. That right there showed how much better the Western Conference is compared to the East. |

Absolutely. That OT was just a sensational display of skill and chemistry from world class players on every line and pairing. Even in this era of the hard cap, the Kings and Hawks are true throwback to the loaded teams of the 90's and very early 00's. It's like the old Wings and Avs rivalry without the bloodbath brawls (yet).
The East looks like they're living in the stone age compared to these All-Star team caliber Western rosters. |

Yes they are and yes they were. That playoff run should be shown to anyone that is being introduced to hockey and they will be hooked. |

East is (bleep). Maybe only Pittsburgh or Boston would ever make it to the semi's. Yet, they get the lion's share of coverage. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

I hope we see the old Philly version of Mike Richards. |
Return to form of 2010 Rick = this team entering a new level. It wouldn't even be fair with that caliber of player on the 3rd line. |

In three days we will be hanging another sexy banner in the Staples rafters. Epic bump to the top for that glorious night.
Anyone going to banner night? Considering it, but my grad school schedule is kicking my ass. On the other hand it IS a special, rare sports moment and I need to grow a sack and get up to Staples. |

I had made plans but I'm going to be bouncing around cities for a while so I sold my tickets for that and the replica ring giveaway game. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

I've got season seats - possible conflict was Angels game 5 (which I also have seats for) which sadly doesn't look it's going to be an issue. |

That is a feeling of severance that no Kings fan should have to deal with. Sorry my friend. |

Eesh, just saw the boxscore for Game 3. That escalated quickly.
Gonna take a banner-raising night as a spirit lifter to counter that out-of-nowhere blitz by the Royals....Let's just hope they don't lose on banner night like 2013 though. |
