^We don't need to make a decision about Nance right now. We do with Randle. Thus, to the extent we want to raise trade value, we need to prioritize doing so with Randle over Nance. Same goes for Deng, who's contract we need to get rid of, which is one of the reasons (aside from potential on the floor impact), I'd rather give 10-15 minutes to Deng than Nance.
I think that decision has been made.
If it has then our FO is more clueless than I thought.
Clueless? How so? They have absolutely killed the draft the last few years. They signed KCP which is one of the better defenders we ever had. They traded away a souring player and one of the worst contracts for Brook and basically Kuzma.
So why didn't we trade this guy during the offseason? This is only gonna decrease his trade value unless that is the idea during contract negotiations.
I suspect his value on the market isn't that great and hey, Magic and company tried. Everybody was hyping what great shape Julius was in I bet if we could have moved Moz and Julius for Lopez, we would have done so and then traded DLo in a separate deal. This front office didn't draft Julius, they DID draft Kuz. They've backed Ingram as the future of the franchise so he's now one of "theirs" but they have never proclaimed anything about Julius except, "if Julius gets that right hand... ooooooh, he's going to be a monster".
Clarkson is another one, we've even heard they think they can move Clarkson at any time so... he ain't in the plans either...
They like Julius in any role he's in but they love the idea of him being able to dominate against second units."

Sounds kinda backhanded compliment... u being demoted son
Yep. Like Iggy and LO
Yep, Iggy and LO moved to 2nd unit for a Championship contenders. Randle, he getting demoted
If that's his ceiling, what is the difference...
If our SG and SF were lights out shooters, I would say he should start but seeing how KCP has been way cold and Ingram has been equally as bad, I think it's tough to make up for Julius' lack of ability to shoot. He needs to be complimented by guys he can kick it out to.

The last few years? It’s been less than one year and I agree they did well in the draft. Trading sucked. Giving up on a player before his 3rd season, when many players break out, is pure stupidity. If their mind is made up now we are in real trouble. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

So we replace him with Nance who is a worse shooter? Confusing logic. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
Lakers are doing a great job at lowering their players' trade value.
Not even kidding, if this is how Luke & the FO is going to handle Julius this year, then they obviously aren't prioritizing him in the long-term and should sell while they can. _________________ Austin Reaves
