Trade Lopez, Nance, Zubac, and KCP. Package whatever we get with Deng. Really need to keep Randle and Clarkson. |

Julius has been nothing short of phenomenal (at times). Find a way to keep him.. difference maker. |
I agree, though they probably want to play with another star than those two. Randle has the grown *** man factor and I think he's more attractive as a teammate between the two. Plus, with a couple stars Jordan gets fewer looks which reduces his value to the roster. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

You're over exaggerating.
It's like when people kept insisting that Randle was terrible at leading fast breaks even though he's consistently been more effective at it than the rest of the team.
Randle has the occasional bad turnover while dribbling just like every other player on the Lakers. |
lol I meant that very literally. I don't think I'm over exaggerating tho. His defense is borderline elite if it isn't there already. I like him in the post. He's good during the fast break but in the half court game but dribbling/slashing is not his forte. |

Great job by Randle down the stretch. Without his effort we don't win this game. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Agree that Julius is worth more, but you also need that microwave scorer from the bench. Clarkson has been amazing in that role, and has found his NBA calling. |

Randle is probably our best player right now. I don't want to lose him. |

The question I posed at the beginning of the season was if Randle is worth more than the two first round picks that may be required to dump Deng. So far the answer is yes IMO. Hopefully, we can use some combination of Lopez, Nance, Zubac, and JC to lighten that loss. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

It's really difficult, I love all 3 of your young PF's. Nance does everything that is asked of him and plays the "glue guy" role so well, but Jules is an enforcer and a nightmare in transition, while Kyle probably is an All Star in the near future. I guess its a good problem to have. |

I think most people like all 3, but Nance easily has the lowest ceiling out of all of them. Nance (if he can stay healthy) is going to be a solid NBA role player.
Randle and Kuzma could both be all stars at some point. I think people still seem to forget that Randle JUST turned 23 and has shown improvement every year he's been in the league.
Right now Julius is showing signs of being an elite defensive player. As he starts taking more three's and mid range shots his offensive game is going to improve also. |

He's not afraid of the moment. He played great D on Embiid the last couple of possessions. |

Great close to the game by Randle tonight. If Embiid catches the ball deep Randle is going to have a hard time containing him but he did a good job of battling him for position, fronting and applying pressure when Embiid got the ball. And he was killing the Sixers on the pick and roll. |

It's been like that for some time and it's something he never gets credit for...
Someone posted a few months back the numbers and Julius's FG% was highest among all Lakers in late game situations. Doesn't matter if he's got the ball in his hands or is playing off ball. Even last year on the defensive end Julius got the Lakers key stops late in games. |

I think Randle played his way into our future.
Id much rather have PG+Randle+clarkson vs PG and cousins |

I know you were half kidding there, but that actually sound more logical than
letting JR walk for 2 max superstars who may never come. If we lose him for nothing and strike out on the plan, Magic's head should roll. |

If PG/DC were garaaaanteeed, of course you do.
But I will take 100% Randle over 50/50 chance on DC. |

You have a point there. And I am addicted to trying to nab a true franchise player in the draft. |

I truly wish we could keep JC as well.. the man has become a true 6th man level player who can carry an offense.
But Julius is the must keep. My gut tells me we won't but if LeBron were smart, he and PG should take pay cuts to Julius. Imagine going down the stretch with: Randle/LeBron/Ingram/George/Lozno + Kuz able to play with those guys too.
Part of why I would almost prefer the Cousins + PG plan is that we can keep Julius. Boogie/Kuzzz/Ingram/PG/Lonzo + Randle |
