Yeah to illustrate how bad it was:

Adams had 10 rebounds and 7 offensive rebounds in just 26 minutes.
Nance had 6 rebounds in 23 minutes... but I believe every single one was when Adams was on the bench!
Lopez had 2 rebounds in 17 minutes
Randle had 1 rebound in 23 minutes
Kuzma had 1 rebound in 23 minutes

He just annihilated the Lakers big men tonight. But in fairness to them on some of those offensive rebounds they were fighting hard to keep him off the glass and he still outmuscled or outhustled them for it. They looked outmatched.

Julius Randle jammed his finger in OKC game. X-rays revealed a mallet fracture in his right ring finger. He’ll play against Indiana tonight, Lakers say.

Good thing he doesn't use his right hand anyway.

[Ganguli] Julius Randle said he doesn’t believe Luke Walton called him out after the OKC game. Said “some people twist the words.” He has spoken to Walton in the past about setting the tone for toughness. Says that’s part of being a leader.

Not surprising.

Also not surprising that he wants it tough.

Easy to see why Pop and Kobe are high on him.

Remember when Adams first entered the league. No tats, short hair, looking like Archie from the comics or Johnny Knoxville.

Rewatch the 8 min mark in the 3rd quarter when Luke took Randle out for Nance after he had made a putback basket. You can see Randle raise his hands as he was exiting the game then starts talking with Luke.

We keep taking him out. Kuzma has given up 5 dunks because he doesn't even attempt to help on defense

Huh? Kuzma was on Young, he wasn’t even on Sabonis who got basically most of the Pacers dunks. That was Nance’s man practically all night.

It was Nance. Kuzma has his own defensive problems but those weren’t his.

LakerShow said help defense.
Kuz wasn't rotating.
But I believe it was Victor that got the buckets.
Sabonis buckets. He got some on bad defense by everyone

Julius Randle says he embraces being singled out by Luke Walton: "It builds leadership."

While many have wondered if Randle is unfairly criticized by the coaching staff, Randle said he embraces being singled out by Walton as the player who sets the tone for the Lakers’ toughness.

“It’s part of a leadership position,” Randle said. “It’s good that guys kind of look after you, the energy and what you bring to the court and kind of follow that. It’s cool.”

On Friday it was revealed that Randle might have had an excuse for some of his struggles in Oklahoma City, at least in the second half. During the game he jammed his left ring finger and suffered a mallet fracture.

“I’ll be fine,” said Randle, who despite the injury started against the Pacers on Friday. “Luckily it’s on my right hand, so it’s not a big deal. Obviously, something I can play with, so I am not worried about it.”

Randle said he suffered the injury when Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook hit his hand, making Randle the second Lakers player to suffer an injury after an encounter with Westbrook.

Luke referred to him as the defensive captain. He has been a big part of our defensive turnaround, being able to match up on 1-5 gives us flexibility.

He has significant physical advantages over a lot of players, particularly in the small-ball era.

It is interesting hearing diverse opinions, the Pacer announcers think it would be stupid to move Randle for cap space.

I think if you whiff on 2 max FAs, you sign him to a reasonable contract and if it doesn't work out you can always trade him. He will always have some value, unlike Deng and Mozgov.

My hope is we can at least get PG and then keep everyone else.
