I mean if OKC was desperate for SOMETHING they could convince George to sign his player option and then Sign and trade him to the Lakers for Deng and Picks but.. I don't think OKC would do that.... not if their GM is sober. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

OKC will pay luxury tax for Deng? Though KCP at $10-12 mil for George might make sense for them. |
How would the tax work if they move his expiring deal midseason? I'm just brainstorming, seeing how their other option would be to lose PG for nothing. |
The tax is figured after the season so any salary dumped during the season wouldn’t count. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Hmm maybe throw in Zu or something. Then they'd be players in next year's free agency, no? Kinda similar to the Chris Paul trade. I'm throwing (bleep) out there at this point . _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Why? When Lakers can keep picks and just sign PG and OKC can avoid Deng and just sign KCP.
Essentially you are trading Deng with picks for cash and these picks are hardly worth it. _________________ .

^ If/when Melo opts in how much cap will they have for free agents? _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Deng/Zu/ draft picks get sent somewhere for the capspace. Someplace like Atlanta, where they want the picks to rebuild. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Makes no sense for OKC.

I agree, though only if we're looking at a second max. Otherwise we should just keep KCP at that number. If we are getting James and George, getting KCP his money probably pleases Kutch. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

And PG would "love" to return to OKC. Aaron Mintz has prepped his clients well. 😁 |

We should sign Randle even if it's 18m. Especially if we only get 1 max player. He's still very young, and if he becomes really good then it was worth the gamble. If we see that he's not showing much growth, we can always play him big minutes, let him pad his stats, and trade him like West & Frank did to Griffin.
There are those who wished we got West back after he left Golden State. Well, that's exactly what he would have done with Randle. Jersey up in the rafters next to Kobe & Shaq, and trade him when he moment was right. |

Wesley Matthews exercises $18.6 million option to stay with Mavs: LINK
So how does this effect the Mavs in their pursuit of Randle? _________________ Don't make me give you a trout slap! |

I wouldn't say out of their mind. Randle has 2 of the 3 keys for the modern NBA.
NBA level switchability against elite guards
Grab and go ability to push tempo.
He adapted. He's not dead. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

It doesn't help them one bit.
Karma for taking on Harrison Barnes and letting GS build an all-time team. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

None
If Melo opts in, OKC is over the cap (even without PG)
https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/OKC.html
RW, Melo, and Adams alone count for around 87.5m & Roberson is another 10m
adding everyone else EXCEPT PG13 comes up to about $117m _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

This is what I was thinking. It probably still wouldn't make sense for them to take on Deng unless they buyout Melo and could benefit from Deng's expiring+picks. Their hands are really tied outside of trading Westbrook so maybe there's a potential deal there. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

That’s terrible click baity writing imo
Using quote from his exit interview that we’ve all heard before and then putting it out in an article 2 days ago titled “Julius Randle would love to return” as if anything new has been said lol |

He would be a good "third best player" and place holder for Kuzma or Ball to blow up and be the third best player, if we are able to sign the two max players.
James 26ppg, 8rpg, 6apg
George 24ppg, 6rpg, 2spg, 40% threes
Randle 15ppg, 9rpg, 3apg
Kuzma 16ppg, 7rpg, 38% threes
Thats a solid big 4. We dont have a clear cut "third star" yet, but Kuzma or Ball could turn in to that guy. |

Same, I didn't think it was possible for him to look in better shape :O
But that means he just stayed the course after the season before jumping back into it. Good sign. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Lakers trying to show they are a class organization. They probably are laeaing towards rewarding Randle for all his hard work, doing what they told him to do. |
