Imagine if he would have accepted a bench role. (Or play PF bc apparently LBJ doesn’t want to start there). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Why would he have to be on the bench? Because Kuzma is tearing it up so much that he can't go to the bench?
Just saying that he seemed to accept it on the Pels. I think he could start with LBJ but his lack of shooting may have started him off the bench. Probably didn’t want that role on the Lakers. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Julius Randle is the first player with a 20-point triple-double off the bench without a turnover since turnovers were first recorded in the 1977-78 season (per @EliasSports).

It’s the Deng money. I think was the difference maker. Had that dead money not been there, I think there’s a much better chance they would have been able to keep Julius Randle.

Why do people pretend Mitch was anything other than a moron who got lucky with the Gasol trade? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Imagine if we kept Randle and Brook, Lonzo/Hart/LeBron/Randle/Brook would be a much better lineup than whatever we have right now. (Brook to make up for Julius non-spacing.)
Bench could be Rondo/KCP/Ingram/Kuzma/Chandler which isn't too shabby. Oops

He’s a good GM. They had great success, but they really hit a dry spot. Really affected their decision-making. Even at the time, everybody knew the lengths of those contract were terrible.
I’m thankful for the winning years we had, he was a good general manager for us.
So depressing that they could have locked Randle up on a multi-year bargain contract and passed. This team would be so much better with Randle, and his contract would have been easy to move. Situations like the Orlando game where stretch bigs were killing Chandler and McGee, it would have been nice to have Randle available.

Would we have cap space to sign Kawhi, KD or Klay if julius was signed to a multiyear deal with the Lakers?
