The problem was that Byron and the FO thought Russell was spending too much time on some things and not enough on others. And it should be no surprise that a rookie would need to learn how to prepare. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
just uploaded 4 misses from Blake Griffin and Deandre - on Randle type shots.

These shots are just so hard for bigmen to make on the move. Contact effects the shot so much.
Byron is just so horrible for allowing Julius to shoot 4 of these a game for 3/4ths of the season. And it doesn't reflect well on the player dev staff either, no semblance of a counter developed. Best counter I saw was in one of the last games where he euro stepped and dished to Bass. These drives should be kickouts if he has no counter and can't get all the way to the rim - which literally would have been the easiest thing to "coach-up", but Byron let Julius ram into the same wall for 3/4ths of the season
In His Own Words
On his summer plans: "Just to work my butt off, day in and day out. Come back better than I can imagine next year. There are a lot of areas in my game that I can work on. I'll leave that up to myself to get better at those areas."

Walton on Julius Randle: "That kid averaged 10 rebounds a game as pretty much a rookie? That’s insane. This is a grown-man league."
He should focus on his offense because if he is a threat from outside he is a threat from everywhere and he'll need to be double teamed. That opens up the game for everyone else _________________ Kobe

Well working on not being one of the worst defenders in the league is also a good use of his time

He was already seeing double teams this year, it's just that he was quick and strong enough most times to get to the rim anyway.
It's weird but it's like people assume that his jumper will never improve. Julius knows he needs to improve on it and has the work ethic to make the necessary improvements.
The defense can easily be improved with better coaching.
I think Julius is going to shock a lot of people next season.
From our young group Julius is the last player I would like to be traded. He is never going to be face of the franchise but he can be very important piece for championship team one year. You always need players like that, hard workers , not looking for personal stats.

With his body and athleticism I wouldn't be so sure he couldn't be the best of the youth. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins
