But what has he done for us lately?

You're a stats guy? 20 rebounds and the game winner on the road against one of the better teams in the east is something I'll take every day.

He is shooting over 50% for the year.

Yes, he had a bad game tonight. Get over it.

20 rebounds was the more empty stat that game. 9 were Oboards and a lot of those were from his misses.
He made the game winner and game winning FT too, that game, so that's impressive as hell and all that matters.
But I think his D is the main problem with the first unit...

He allows 60% at the rim. Worst in the league. Yes, just a bad game right?

He's essentially giving up everything he's offering offensively.

Randle played lazy tonight. Very unlike him.

The missing free throws part I expected. He shouldn't be put in a situation where he needs to make 3 straight free throws.

Yeah Julius is fine. He has been poor on defense though after starting out decent. I really need to see how he plays with at least Russell back.

That being said, wow, Julius was really pissy mid-game tonight. He has to be better. When he was up for FTs I knew he wouldn't make it because his head wasn't really in it. Very unlike the Julius that punked Chandler and Cousins.

Hey, it's a #process.

Randle will NEVER be a star with the Lakers or any team in the league. After this season it's seriously time for Mitch to see what value he has left and get the best trade for him.

Concerned about the last 5-6 games. And, he doesn't look injured at all. His decision making on both sides of the floor has become poor. For example, Luke took him out early because he didn't box out his man twice on the same possession, which resulted in two offensive rebounds. Plus, he's struggling with how to play defense without fouling.

DLO and Ingram are going to be our stars. Julius just needs to develop into a Draymond lite on the offensive end. At 22 he's proven enough to not be traded.

Foul trouble today was an issue as well.

Luke has been at him before, I'm not worried about that. He did it in the Bulls game and Julius came back composed and did what he was supposed to. Today he seemed frustrated from the fouls early on and even good defensive plays he did make that were all ball and called fouls. Doesn't worry me though.

Long awaiting Russell to come back so that chemistry they both had can gel the starting lineup again.

Draymond's main asset is his elite defense. Randle is one of the worst defenders in the entire league.

Draymond can shoot. Randle cannot.

Draymond can handle the ball at an elite level. Randle cannot.

Draymond is able to make smart plays. Randle cannot.

This is like saying Kwame Brown just needs to turn into Tyson Chandler.

Great. Reply with condescension instead of addressing any of my points.

He got off to a nice start tonight then seemed to get frustrated by the foul trouble. Never got it going after his first stint.

Draymond Green at the same age as Randle was averaging 3/3/1 on 33% shooting and he fursure was not known for his defense. Draymond at 23 was worse then Randle is right now. Draymond at 24 has the same stats Randle has right now (although by this point Draymond was known for his defense).

This same list when Draymond was 22:

Draymond's main asset is his NOT his elite defense.
Draymond can NOT shoot.
Draymond can NOT handle the ball at an elite level.
Draymond is NOT able to make smart plays.

Only difference? Randle is better at everything at age 22

Randle couldn't make a single jumpshot last year and now he has certain stretches where he makes 1-2 in a row. Randle was a blackhole ALL of last season and now he's had games where he's shown potential as a playmaker and ball handler.

He's shown improvement in all areas in basically his second season. If you can't see it doesn't mean you're right, and luckily Mitch isn't an idiot so no he won't be trading Randle. You can give up on Randle at age 22, but don't expect someone with actual FO knowledge to have similar opinions.

Where were all of you people when he dropped that triple double two weeks ago? Mars? If so, please do the rest of us a favor and just go back.

Randle has difficulty adjusting to how the game is being called. If the officials aren't letting a lot of "incidental" contact go, he gets frustrated and either does the bull-in-the-china-cabinet routine or stops being aggressive. Some of that is a lack of mental toughness, some of it is normal difficulty magnified by the disparity between his talent and his skill level. He's stuck between what he knows he's talented enough to accomplish and lacking the fundamental tools to counter circumstances that stop him from going to his strong hand (figuratively and literally).

His best role is a facilitator not a go-to-guy scorer. This is what happens if we don't have enough scorer on the lineup. However, I have to mention something positive in this game. His first two jumpers looked very smooth.

this is true, very smooth, I forgot about that

... Idk if the defensive energy is going to improve this year. But if he uses this season to have improved his passing and his J - that's enough. that's huge. Decent defense will hopefully come later

I don't think is about energy with him..more like concentration issues and staying in the game. He has moments when he just makes stupid plays followed by great ones..

It's hard for him without Young and Russell to spread the floor..
