Yeah, I'm a fan. His improvement from year one to year two was tremendous, not counting the injury year of course. I hope we can keep him, but money is going to be an issue moving forward. Ramona said that JR wants to be here too, which also should mean something to the organization.

Regardless his 12m cap hold makes him a trade target like Jc.
2 max. Sigh.

That's right, huh? Unless they can dump Deng.

But at that point, if the return is trash, they might as well renounce his rights rather than trade him for nothing. That way if the 2 max pipe dream doesn't come to fruition, you can keep him.

Dumping Moz cost us Dlo. What will Deng cost? Probably more.

Yeah it doesn't seem like they're too interested.

Hope we don't trade for George and Randle shows out for us next season that HE should be one of those max rookie contract players. But I don't have any faith in this FO to do the smart thing.

They are already giving up too much for Paul George and are making desperate amateurish decisions so nothing would surprise me at this point aside from them doing something smart.

Lebron is a 3 Max kinda guy. He wouldn't go to a team with only one other bonafide All-Star on it.

Jimmy Butler has to be the 3rd target. No other star on such a reasonable contract... that $19M contract makes a Butler/George/LeBron trio feasible

Really strong roster and one where I think Ball would really shine.

Don't know if Ball would make it out. To get Butler, we'd have to move Deng as part of the deal. I don't think Ingram/Deng is enough for the Bulls. Dunno how they'd even pull it off but Lord knows LeBron would put the heat on Magic to figure out a way.

Any chances we retain him if he averages like 15/9 this year?

Is he more important than our team MVP, "cap space?"

That is all about what you can make with the cap space.

Julius Randle could average 22/10/4 and Magic will trade him to avoid paying him so that he can pick up a 28 year old lesser version of what he thinks is better.

Sick and tired of Magic already.

Magic always sounded higher on Julius than Russell. Every time someone asked Magic about Randle he'd just say he wants to see him develop his right hand more and he could easily see him as an all star.

If Julius is still on the roster come training came he'll have the opportunity to ball his way into staying.

Read on reddit (since LG was down ) that Ramona said yesterday that Lakers are high on randle

Hopeful that we may not trade him....!

I'm sure Magic likes Randle's attitude better.
But ultimately Randle's saving grace will be that it doesn't seem that he has much trade value around the league. Russell at least got them out of Mozgov. I do hope we keep him. I still think there's an outside shot he turns into a star.

Hopefully he comes into the season in hyper shape, and plays well. I'd make sure to find multiple opportunities to play him at 4 to drum up his trade value. If things fall right, a contender might want him for small ball line ups.

Don't delude yourself, Deng is immovable unless we attach Ingram or #2. The cap shrunk, so Deng's contract got even worse. We'll probably just stretch him in 2018 if need be, something like $7M in dead money for 5 years isn't gonna kill you.

I wasn't a big fan, but damn the work he's putting in has me converted and optimistic he'll have a breakout year. I hope we don't trade him before the season.

Funny how Magic is getting bashed right and left for these decisions and Pelinka is hardly ever mentioned. Do we really think Magic is making these moves on his own?
