With Cousin's injury, assuming PG wants to come, aside from Lebron, there is no FA out there better than Randle. And if Lebron wants to come, you really think he would rather take a few more millions on his deal instead of having Randle on his side going up against Houson and GS? So thanks to the Cousins injury, Randle is not going anywhere. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

Man I love that quote. It's also telling how his teammates view him.

That's how you support your squad. Hell yeah. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

On the Lakers' way to dumping Julius Randle so they could sign two star contracts next summer, Randle started playing like a star. So why not modify the plan to one star free agent plus keeping Randle, and filling out the roster with what you have left?
He's really checking all the boxes right now, because he's also showing some true leadership skills as well. Magic needs to walk back that "Lonzo is our leader" talk, because he'll never be that at least until he's man enough to put his dad in his place.
But look at Julius. Which young Laker shows the pride to back up his teammates in an altercation, or step to an opponent who's disrespecting them? Randle. Which young Laker shows the maturity to congratulate opponents after a loss, while certain others are walking off the court pouting? Randle.
The Lakers should not only sign Randle without delay, they should consider making him a captain on next year's team (co-captain will do). Right now, at least before any superstars sign on, this is HIS team.
There is much truth in here...
My take is that LeBron and PG, if they are serious about wanting to win and want to come here, have to be willing to take less to keep Julius. Randle would be a major key in going head to head with GS or Houston.
If LeBron does not come but PG does, I'd still love our core with flexibility next year while bringing in one year guys.
Even without PG and basically coming back with a similar roster makeup/situation, Randle's emergence (and growth from Zo, BI, Kuz) makes us a playoff team

I think so, too. I get not settling for small gains when an opportunity presents itself, but I'd say the tangible improvement of your own players is an opportunity in itself. Just as seen in the past month or so, this team can be a playoff team just as it is. Fitting a key FA into *what they already have* would climb them up the ladder that much faster.
He needs to be careful on those moving picks. Saw 2 in the denver game that both weren't called, but if he gets used to those they may be called at crucial times in the playoffs _________________ Kobe
I’d be ok bringing everyone back the way we’re playing tbh. IT, Randle and brook.
I feel like if Ingram and hart were healthy we could have made a push for the playoff.
I’d rather watch Kuzma, Randle, Ingram, Lonzo, hart and zubac do their thing than bring in pg13 it lebron. I may be in the minority but I’m Ok with that.
Randle is the man. He doesn’t need to play second fiddle to anyone anymore.

Agreed. If George doesn't want to come then we should just keep Pope. If possible on another one year deal. _________________ Kobe
