I think prime LO had much better handles.

He did. He's more Barkley-esque.

He's starting to have that aura where you can see he feels like he can do anything he wants.

LO's handles weren't much better just slightly better and more controlled. Randle is quicker though and has Barkley-esque strength. His handles are better than Barkley's but not as good as LO's.

I'm starting to feel like the offense is best when ran through him.. or hell at least it will be once he gets more games under his belt this year

He's accounted for like 75% of the starters easy looks in transition this preseason . just btw

Exactly... on the jumper thing.

There were so so many PFs that made a career out of that midrange, most notably Malone, West, Webber.

If Julius career is an average of these three - we are golden.

Great comparison.
Never considered that for Randle.
Maybe he's a modern Barkley in more ways than one.

You have Kobe, Roy and D'Angelo, I don't surprise the number.

I don't think that Russell is soft; he's just very young.

Okafor is looking pretty good in past two Games.

Could of had him

with his Jumper. give his current form this season, see if he gets it down - he's had success with it in like 4 games as a Laker. After this year if it's still not halfway consistent, then make serious changes to the form.

I dunno. Barkley had some pretty ridiculous handles, although he was like 4 inches shorter than Randle so that helps.

lol, dude, you did not watch Okafor tonight. he was 4-12FGA, blocked 3 times (see two in my vines) , multiple bricks in the paint. really struggles finishing over guys - where he's supposed to make his living.

he was 4-12FGA tonight.

I think it's just rhythm thing. He's starting to knock down those fadeaway because he create those shot for himself.

But when it comes to the spot-up shooting, he seems a bit out of rhythm.

It's the hesitation. Randle just needs to not think about it and just let it fly.

I think he hits those fades cuz those are short range. But catch and shoot 17footers, he made like 5 last pre-season, only one pullup

I always believed that he relied too much on bully ball in the post. He needs to continue to refine that short mid range jumper, and then use his footwork to keep his defender off balance, a la Al Jefferson.

As for that Russell comment, SMH. Is it because he's thin, and or can't immediately bounce back from being run over by a seven footer?

I got to to watch the game in person tonight and Randle looked good just as you saw. He was pacing himself from the get go but got into early foul trouble. Once he got back in he turned it up and the crowd was really buzzing on that around the back the pass to Kobe for 3!!

Like everyone is saying, imagine this kid with a jumper?! Sky is the limit. Hell get confidence in it. Just keep working Ju

remember when posters were saying he already has a better post game than Al Jefferson. We've seen him get shut down in the post more games than not - had 1/3rd of his shot attempts blocked in SL. People just won't slow down on his hype train. He'll be good, but like you said he has a lot to refine.

Okafor is going to be a beast man. I may be biased because I was an Okafor guy, but the kid is only 19. He'll be dominating the league in a couple of years. He's just so smooth. Let's not hate on these kids just because they're not Lakers. I see a lot of hate for Mudiay around here also. Newsflash: Mudiay is a stud, much like some very few around here said during the whole draft process. With that being said, D-Lo will have his time to shine as well

^ It's not hate. I think we all realize these kids are 19-20. I think we just need to cool down the hype train a bit, especially when it's being used to cast doubt on our own players.

When a guy gets 1/3rd of his shot attempts blocked in SL, with a bunch of airballs , and the same tonight -- I don't have to automatically think he's going to dominate one day or else I'm hating. Same concept goes for Mudiay.
But the point is really - even though we criticize these guys game's , it doesn't mean we think they're gunna be busts. Just pointing out what we're seeing and harping on the process it will take.

I like how Randle responded to being called the future face of the franchise. He could've gone out there and laid an egg, it wouldn't have really meant anything but still disappointing. For him to come out and have the game really instills confidence that he sees himself as a great player.

pump the brakes on mudiay bro, what makes you think he's a stud?

5/16 w/ 8 turnovers

7/14 w/ 7 turnovers

2/11 w/ 2 turnovers

https://vine.co/v/e0eeKFYPD3T look at how effective this dribble handoff between Randle and Clarkson is. (first Randle comes of a Hibbert ball screen). Swaggy was open for 3 if Randle swung it
point is, everything this guy creates off the dribble is gold, IMO.
