The only scouting video I have seen on Clarkson is on page one of this blog and it had pros and cons about his game. It did not appear to me that he is a complete point, I was not impressed with passing skills or his shooting especially off the dribble.
I will not draw a conclusion on his NBA future until I can see him play against NBA talent.
Also some seem to think he is not available to be signed. My understanding Mitch paid 2 million for his draft rights so that makes him Laker property for now. If someone knows differently please post it. _________________ .....

My biggest fear, he's yet unsigned to involve in a trade for Bledsoe. Please don't let it be!
They better not!!
I have a feeling Clarkson is gonna go out on a trade. for who? I don't know. the reason lakers haven't sign him is because he can't be traded for a long period time if they do. The love trade b/w cavs and t-wolves may seem like it's a done deal. But we might be able to sneak back in there with a randle/Clarkson package with a 3rd team like philly involved. Since Minnesota is interested in 76er's Thad Young. Or we could ship Clarkson and Houston 1st and even nash for a legit starter at PG/SF/C position. This team still have room for improvement and moves can still be made. Hope Mitch is working on sth.
I really like the kids potential but I think he could end up being trade bait. I hope we are some how able to trade Clarkson, Nash, 2015 Houston 1st and Lakers 2nd round picks and the remaining 1.2 million cash for Bledsoe.

oh sure, the classic second-rounder-used-as-trade-bait. yeah, i am positive that the Suns have holding out for a big splash second rounder trade. the reason Clarkson is not signed is that the Lakers have to wait until all other FA are vetted and the numbers are crunched. Clarkson will be signed for a two-year deal. ok?

Quite often second-round picks don't get signed until training camp. Their contracts aren't guaranteed and they're not a lock to make their teams' rosters.

Everybody relax. He'll get signed after the preseason game and just before the season opener. Dude is not the deal breaker on any "'pipe dream" Kevin Love trade senario. He'll be offered the Ryan Kelly deal from last year. Don't y'all get your panties in a bunch.
I'm not sure why the Lakers haven't signed him yet, but I hope it's not for a future trade consideration, because this is one of those players that you rarely get unless you're the San Antonio Spurs.
Hopefully we sign him and get him locked in, because he's a talented player.

Flexibility.
You never know what might come up before the season starts. They may have every intention of keeping him, but it's not necessary to sign him yet.
The Lakers have his rights, so he can't be stolen by another team. He'll be at training camp and they'll get a good feel for him.
I'd say that it's pretty much guaranteed that he'll be a Laker when the season starts unless some crazy offer comes up for him.

Clarkson passes the eye test. Good handle w/ lots of shake. Even more so than someone like Nick Young. Doesn't have the mid range game, but more adept at getting into the lane. A taller poor man's Monta Ellis.
