Lakers currently have only 4 players under contract.

Kobe - $23.5m
Nash - $9.7m
Randle - $3m
Sacre - $0.9m

Total - $37.1m

If Lakers use the stretch provision on Nash's contract, his 2014-15 salary cap hit drops to $3.23m, reducing total contracts to $30.6m.

The 2013-14 salary cap was $58.7m. Assuming a 5% increase, it increases to $61.6m.

With the approximate $30m to spend, Lakers should approach Kyle Lowry, Greg Monroe, and Chandler Parsons to sign with the Lakers for $10m each.

Starting line-up: Lowry, Kobe, Parsons, Randle, Monroe

To fill out the roster, Lakers should consider signing/re-signing Aaron Brooks, Ed Davis, Kendall Marshall, Ryan Kelly, Robert Sacre, Greg Stiemsma (Split mid-level between Brooks and Davis).

This team should be one of the higher ranked offensive teams. Interior defense is lacking but perimeter defense with Lowry and Parsons should be good.

Your numbers are a little off.

First, you have to account for all the open roster spots at the rookie minimum, so that's probably another $4-5 million or so for the 9 open slots.

Second, you're underestimating how much these guys will get. Monroe is restricted and his current team would match a $10 million offer. Monroe's agent is angling for a max contract - $15 million per -- and he may well get it.

Chandler, I think, will get at least $12. Lowry is a question mark. But none of these guys have made big NBA money in their careers so I don't see them coming here for below market value.

If things break right, I could see us getting two of them, not three.

You simply cannot play Monroe next to Randle. There would be absolutely no rim protection.

That Team will be very fun to watch (compared to last year), I MIGHT substitute:

Gortat for Monroe
Ariza for Parsons

C =Gortat or Monroe
PF = Randle
SF = Ariza or Parsons
SG = Kobe / Kane
PG = Lowry / Jordan Clarkson

It's funny when you put "may" and "book it" in the same statement.

When I flip this coin, it may land on heads. Book it!

Oh, it landed on tails? Well, I said it "may" land on heads, not that it will land on heads.

I guess we get two of the five starting lineup? and 3 of the fillers..
and Zero on the Head coaching position. Great Job Front office.
