The "blonde" graduated with honors from USC.
Jimbo dropped out.
And lol to "staying in her lane". What a load of chauvinist BS. The Lakers are her business. She's the public face of the franchise...even though she has to paint a happy face on Jimbo's disastrous reign in the front office.
You think something's actually changed with Jim? We got lucky and got the #2 pick. Does Jim deserve credit for that? |

So she is just now agreeing with what many of us were posting 2-3 seasons ago that it takes time to get out from under large salaries and get cap space? I guess better later than never. |
I guess she got tired of whining in the media. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Stay in her lane which is business and marketing | The problem is all those interviews she does makes Mitch's job tougher. Like Don Corleone said to Sonny, never let anyone outside of the family know what you're thinking, now Mitch Kupchak takes that advise to heart, Jeanie on the other hand is the complete opposite. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

Biggest issue i see with FAs coming here is Kobe's reputation. Kobe has not played in a min, guys have no idea who they will be playing with. He, Kobe will want to show everyone he still got it, team ball goes right outta the gate. I hope i am wrong but we shall see.. _________________ New Beginings |

off topic but I miss your avatar team.....with that team we might have taken 1999 and very well easily would have taken 2003 considering Van Exel was on a roll in that playoffs and tearing the Kings and Spurs (especially the kings) up left and right. Nicks last great shining moment... |

So much childish nauseating sexism in this thread.

She certainly has a maternal style about her. And that is really
not an ideal management style. Be it a woman in or a man (paternal). _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

But Jerry Buss wasn't paternal? And people complained about that too, right?
I just don't think people realize how condescending and sexist some of this (bleep) is. I'm just pointing it out. If people want to continue speaking about the Owner of the Lakers with a straight-up Mad Men mentality, be my guest. I just think it reflects more poorly on them than her. |

I think a lot of fans felt what she confirmed. Lakers had no clear plan after howard volted. It was a season with a team slapped together with a plan to see what sticks on the wall. Injuries happened and the plan seemed to chsnge from tank to develop youth. It was was by far the most painful and horrible season of my laker life.
We are fortunate to be where we are.
Im looking forward to a new beginning |

Excuse me but she runs the show. You might not like it but get used to it....Jim might run basketball operations...but everything goes through her. |

love jeanie buss and im glad she is the face of this franchise. If we compare how well she has done her job (making money for the franchise) as opposed to how well basketball operations has done its not even a contest, she boatraced them. They are building a state of the art practice facility,I wonder who's decisions enabled the franchise to do that. |

Love the 1998 squad. Shaq, Kobe, Nick and Eddie just personified 1990s LA to me. Too bad they broke up before winning the whole thing. _________________ -Avenue of the Champions- -RIP Dr Buss- #824 |

A lot of people peg her as the business genius of the family too, you would think she would know this.
Lakers are poised to build a playoff contender for years to come, they are very close to having rebuilt this thing with this coming season |

that's the scary part. she being so emotional, i can definitely see Phil takes advantage of that to influence her in some future front office decision making or leaking info to the Knicks, unintentionally. |

Yea I'm not really getting the whole hate for Jeanie crap. And a lot of it is pretty damn sexist. Stay in her lane? The whole road is hers. She runs the business where it matters - meaning business decisions. She ain't some "dumb blonde" - if Jeanie ever left the lakers it would be a loss. She's good at what she does. _________________ "Bryant has been the second best player in the NBA for over a decade, but the number 1 player changes every other year.
