kobe played behind an all-star in eddie jones and the lakers roster was pretty stacked (eddie jones, nick van exel, shaq, cedric ceballos/robert horry, elden campbell). he didn't look great, yeah, but he showed promise. exum is on a team that is nowhere near making the playoffs.. he's getting handed a decent amount of minutes and hasn't shown much. |

He's been played at PG 75% of the time -- he's been asked to do more, try to attack more. He just doesn't have the skill to do it. All he can do is swing the ball or make a good pass in the PnR. |
He got moved into the starting lineup 4 games ago, as Utah's not happy with Trey Burke either, and 20 of his 26 shots in those games have been from behind the arc. Zero FTAs. He just can't get his own shot. He's one of the more poorly scouted players I've seen in the last 5 years or so. But like they say, you tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth. |
Quote: | Exum has 2 free throw attempts in his last 341 minutes. |
Utah has to be scratching their heads like, what is this, what did we get here - because he was touted as a slasher. But he hasn't shown a flash of ability or promise in that facet.
People are trying to give Exum the excuse of he's not allowed to make plays. If you watch their games, their offense is sorely lacking a 2nd perimeter threat - the ball gets swung around the perimeter awkwardly until it ends up in Hayward's hands, and he has to create a shot for himself abruptly. Hayward literally gets the ball like "AGAIN?", and he has to go create something before the shot clock runs out. |

vs. the celtics: 0 points, 25 minutes, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 2 t/o.
the 2 games before that, he got most of his points as a spot up 3 point shooter. people were expecting him to be much more aggressive, not some guy who stands in the corner and jacks up 3's.

I wouldn't say he's taken a step forward, he just had a couple hot catch and shoot games. In his 15point game he hit 5 threes. He still looked very poor off the dribble.
Today he had another piss poor game and was -20s +/- . The team couldn't score with him on the court swinging the ball, Trey Burke came in, played the majority of the 2nd half minutes and they made it a game. +/- was actually a very true indicator today , through most of the 2nd the Jazz had 30points while being led by Exum. Burke changed the game for them. |

Wow Stanley Johnson is good. Don't sleep on him. Probably the best 2 way player in this draft. Very similar game to Jimmy Butler, but IMO has a higher ceiling |

nice. I'm not sure anything positive will come from this stretch of games but it's possible. We have to make sure to lose our games |

I don't worry about the tank as much this year. Last year we still had Pau. Also had Jodie and Swaggy playing for contracts which messed up some potential losses with their hot shooting...I remember Meeks went off for 40 or something against OKC lol...Hopefully they can get up to 2 this year. |

I hope for at least a 3rd spot, keeping us relatively safe if we drop two spots due to bad ping pong ball bounces....
Those 6 games two each against Minny/Sixers/Knicks sure have importance...
I wonder if the lakers could get early-ish 2nd round picks for Hill/Lin and Boozer? Package those 3 picks with our early 2nd giving us 4 early 2nd rounders. Perhaps two of these 2nd rounders done twice in separate deals can net us 2 more late 1st's? Giving us 2 more 1st's to go with the top 5 pick and the Rocket pick. Then trade two of the late 1st's for a 18ish pick? Boozer can be traded, I thought it was impossible until I read this.... LINK: http://allsportseverything.com/2011/12/the-nbas-new-amnesty-clause-explained-cause-youve-asked/
That would be a dream move IMO, getting a 18 to join the Rocket pick at 24 or so and getting a 2/3 pick. Far fetched I know, but I wonder and hope. |

I was thinking the same thing.
Ainge hipped out Rondo, Green etc in a full-on tanking effort and now the Cs are playing better than they have all year. 3 wins in 4 games on a Western road trip.
They're only a couple of games out of the last playoff berth in the East now.
Would love it if Ainge's shameless tanking blew up in his face. |

Has this been clarified? In a different thread someone found something that made it seem like boozer can be traded |

If Boozer is not released, I wouldn't be surprised if he is resigned next year. He has done a good job coming off the bench. |

On the one hand, I would like him released so he can actually play on a playoff bound team.
On the other hand, as you stated, if he's willing to come off the bench and get paid around the same price (remember he got paid his full $17m this year) as the amnesty bid ($3m) it's not a bad option.
If he wants to start and get paid, the Lakers are not the place for that. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

D'Angelo vs Indiana full game. Haven't watched it yet, but from his highlights this year, its always a good sign when a player keeps making good passes that you didn't even know were there. |
So I finally got around to watching the entire game. Russell, Wow... He's got a kind of CP3 vibe about him. Not that their games are similar (although some of their passes are), but more in the sense of how they control the action, direct their teammates, and attack at the right times. Very impressive for a college player, let alone an eighteen year old. |

Russell looks amazing. Watched some of that Indiana/OSU game.
My question, has he been guarded by lengthier defenders? Yogi Ferrell isn't exactly a lockdown artist nor is he even over 6 feet tall. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
