I know his Laker tenure has been brutal so far, but the fact is when he has played...he is still an effective player, it really is all about health with him.
If by some chance he can have a healthy season, he really is a forgotten man....am I dreaming that Nash could have a big season for us this year out of nowhere?

If he can give us 20 effective mins off the bench, i'd be thrilled. That's all i want. |

Nash can't play anymore. That was very obvious when he tried last year. Back for a game out for three. What he has isn't going to get better. It will always get re-aggravated. Nash will only take minutes from a young player that needs to develop. They are better buying him out and thanking him for the disaster that he was. |

There is an opportunity cost in starting Nash. Lin/Clarkson/other PG should get the reps to develop. Nash may be a play 1 game, take off 3 kind of guy from here on out. He can do that from the bench. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I hope that his health is good enough to play 15 min a game. |

If Nash can play 16.5 Minutes a game and put up 50%/40%/90% I'll be happy. |

I think you'd have to start by figuring out a way to pull that giant fork out of his back. |

Four draft picks, man...
I just want him to retire or get traded so we can move on as a franchise. _________________ Lakers, today. Lakers, tomorrow. Lakers, forever. |

I actually like Nash and bear him no ill will. He really tried for us, his body just betrayed him. |

Me either, but he's going to have to find a way to contribute in some fashion, because I don't see him going anywhere and the Lakers roster isn't exactly stacked and deep. |

No. I want him gone. He should have retired last season. The pathetic out is trying to hang by a nail with a body that's falling apart while taking away time from young nba prospects who need playing time. |

Maybe he can mentor Lin and play 10-15 minutes a game. I don't expect much more than that unless his nerve damage miraculously improves. |

If and I know it is a very big if, but IF Steve Nash can stay relatively healthy, I think he could do some big things for us this season.
You know he doesn't want to go out like this, the guy is a former MVP for crissakes...he has a ton of pride and I bet he figures out a way to contribute this year.
At least I hope so, I could be begging actually! _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

It's funny that the people who blame Kobe for signing his extension are oddly silent on Nash's refusal to retire when his contract ate up nearly $10 million of our cap and cost us four draft picks in return for essentially nothing. |

i blame Damien Lillard. I know it's a what if and hindsight remark, but if Nash didn't get hurt in that exact spot on the leg affecting his nerves by Lillard, we could have seen a totally different Lakers past two years.
But it is what it is. Oh well! |

That's for sure. There have been lots of rumblings and grumblings in that regard.
That said, expecting a guy to just walk away from that paycheck out of some moral obligation to the team on the hook for it is extremely unrealistic. |

I think he'll give a solid 15-20 MPG.
Whatever you think about the Lin deal, it means that we won't be over-reliant on Nash and he'll be fresh.
If he gives his normal game in reduced minutes, that's pretty damn alright. _________________ 17 on the horizon. |

I am not counting on Nash one bit and I doubt that the front office is, either. The couldn't give away Nash over the past months.
If he can provide 50 games and upwards of 15 minutes, I would call that a miracle.
At this point, I actually don't care if he suits up all season. That way I don't have to listen to updates about him and watch him go in and (mostly) out of the lineup. |
