I think Kobe has a poster with Pau's name on it somewhere in his house. |

In any case, many of you may know that I was one of Pau's most ardent defenders/advocates on this and other Laker forums.
Since he shed the golden armor that is no longer the case. |

Appreciated what Gasol did for the Lakers, but it was time for both sides to move on. I think he will appreciate that the team isn't going to try to trade him at least for this year. |

Gasol will not be any different than he was his last 3 years with the Lakers. He will score but it will be meaningless. Chicago plays defense, Gasol could care less about defense, just like with the Lakers. When the Bull players see that Gasol does not bust his butt on the defensive end they will start to resent him. I am so glad Gasol decided to leave the Lakers, now Scott will not have to deal with pampering Gasol. Gasol will undermined a team to his benefit, the Gasol of 2010 died 3years ago. _________________ .....

huh?the Lakers actually did trade Gasol once, for Chris Paul, the deal just fell through. Beyond that he was constantly on the trading block.

He really wasn't, but that didn't stop the media and posters here from saying so. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I have personal reasons to root for him, and I will, but I don't think he's going to be as good of a fit in Chicago as he's been made out to be. |

Phil pushed Gasol in the chest.
Thibs...what is he going to do when Pau isn't playing defense? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I read this post on FB where Derek Rose said something like "I'm glad I can count on Pau to make shots in the clutch" or something.
I read another where apparently Thibs thinks that Pau can continue to average 37 minutes a game for them.
Yeah, Bulls fans are already building up Pau to be things that he is not. He's going to have a tough time living up to their expectations. |

All I can really say is that I'm happy Pau isn't wasting the last years of his basketball career playing on a team that won't make the playoffs or struggles to get into the first round only to be swept. _________________ http://tinyurl.com/zhjax5w

Hes no defensive player of the year, but hes better than what he showed us. He was pouting most of the last 2-3 years.
Hes a smart guy, and despite him mailing it in, id say hes a loyal guy
The difference this year is that he'll try to play defense |

I keep reading from Bulls fan that Gasol is rejuvenated. Sounds familiar?Only to disappoint in the end and regressed as the season goes on.
But I hope Gasol plays good in his new team.

On the other hand, Mirotic was balling. He better play well to hold onto that starting spot. |

Lakers didn't win championships in Gasol's last 3 years with the team which is what Voices pointed out.
I happen to agree. I've always likened Pau Gasol to one of those inflatable "attention-grabbers" they normally have at dealerships that wave their arms around.
I'm waiting for that first upper-respiratory infection to kick in. |

Gasol is going to regret going to the Bulls.
The guy could have been a spokesman for the Lakers for the remainder of his life. Frankly he's the type of guy who maybe could have been groomed for a front office gig.
He was from the reports offered more money to the team that would/will retire his number. Is Memphis going to retire his number? probably not. Maybe I guess?
Chicago sure as heck isn't.
A short sighted move... to a team that isn't winning a title either. |
