People don't trade for "value plus" for spurs, they're an unknown away from POP.
Lakers didn't disrespect pau.. they asked for value plus plus in some cases. He was also the last man standing besides kobe from the championship team.
What's insulting and disrespectful is that we basically traded "Mr. Laker Pau" for a down and out boozer that got amnestied.
That was pau's worth in free agency, that has nothing todo with the lakers.
Pau's market value dropped like a rock because of Pau. Even then his value was inflated on the 'hope' a change of scenery improves his production. That's how bad he was. Luv the guy anyways and worth every penny paid and wish he stayed, but lets keep it real at the same time.
That entire contract he should have been thanking the lakers for the salary that any team would have had to pay for him. He should have then been overjoyed that during his slumps the lakers were still asking for dual stars minimum.
Lakers treated him better than any organization would treat a #2 that's past his prime after winning rings and not competing for multiple seasons. _________________ KOBE!!! |

tbh we should forget abt cp3 and make the trade with rockets directly. We could have Dragic to solve our pg problem and Kevin Martin would help as a scorer and 3pt shooter. Scola could be traded in a future trade as a filler. Hell we could get a first rounder too.
Btw right after that huge Kobe contract extension Pau's career at Lakers was over. If Kobe took Duncan money then we could put some talent around Pau-Kobe. |

And that's completely fair. When it comes down to it, both the team and he had tough decisions to make about each other, and both made the decision that was right for them. _________________ “We must always take sides. Yeah, it's hard to blame Gasol for leaving. If he stays there's always a 50/50 chance he gets traded, especially with a team that's going to struggle like this years team will. Hard to see him in that Bulls uniform though. _________________ Maybe you think it's completely innocent. Maybe you don't. On a likely $9-10m deal, it would be too tempting for the Lakers to dangle his name in trade scenarios. At least he got to choose a team in this case. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I don't see what the big deal about Pau going to the cold is....its not like he's going to be sleeping in a cardboard box....he's going to probably live in a nice warm condo/apartment/house with some sort of heated garage....his contact with the cold weather is probably going to be limited. Of course the thing that would probably affect him the most is when he has to drive in the crappy roads during winter. |

I'm sure he'll have Chicago's finest keeping his bed warm in winter. He'll be fine. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Any of you guys see the Cavs/Bull game? Pau did not look at all on defense. It's preseason so I'm not surprised Thibs kept him in the game, but I can easily see him pulling him out real quick if he continues to get killed like that. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. ^Maybe the change of scenery or going to a 'contender' is not going to help. Maybe Pau is just on the downside of his career. |

I watched bits and pieces of last night's game, the first game of the season. When I did, I only followed Gasol. He just sort of stood there, stuck his arm out, glided from spot to spot, and watched guys blow by him. No apparent effort. No impact. Sound familiar? To be sure, I only watched maybe 10 -15 minutes of the game but when I heard 21-11 and then saw the box score I was surprised. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Gasol was also injured in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline. |

Maybe a case of only seeing what you want to see? At least I know that's what a lot of Laker fans have been doing to Gasol over the last few years.
I don't know if I would quite use the dominant word yet with Pau after just 1 game, but he is a perfect fit in the Bulls system and for their needs. |

If you're gonna give Pau a hard time about playing D, his length is enough to out rebound any of our bigs. Jordan Hill can get offensive rebounds, but he runs out of gas too quick.
Pau is gonna be just like Kobe in terms of his production on offense. Pau has a great touch with an array of offensive moves in the post. |

Tomorrow's game will be interesting. Varajao gave Pau fits in the Preseason game, and a LeBron is going to be looking for a big bounce back game after losing his home opener. |

They gave up 80 to the Knicks so I'm not sure how bad he could've been. |

He wasn't bad at all. He was actually pretty good defensively since the Bulls are so athletic he just had to rotate and use his height. |

At least he has height. And he can pass the ball. I really think he needed some change of scenery - but he is still better than Boozer and Hill. Sad to see him in a different uniform. |
