Instead, we signed Swaggy P.
Pierce is taking a 2 year deal (with 1 year player option)with the Wizards at same price per year as Swaggy P.
Having LA native Pierce do the last year or two of his career in LA next to Kobe would have been cool. It also would have gotten under the skin of millions of Celtics fans. |

Signing Pierce would have at least been consistent with their financial plans. The Young signing makes no sense whatsoever. |

Why should we sign Pierce, a CELTIC over Young who has clearly shown he loves the Lakers. Young is way more explosive a scorer than pierce |

Pierce wanted to come and play for the Clippers...he would never ball for Lakers and hurt his Celtic base. _________________ Back to Back Yeah, Yeah...and you know that!

I'd wager really good money that he only wanted to come here to play for the Clippers. As others have already opined. |

You mean with the Clippers? It was never mentioned the Lakers or Pierce were interested in each other. |

Young is 29 and has some years left. He could even improve more like he did last season. Pierce is close to done. |

LOL at the presumption that "LA" meant the Lakers. |

because rick fox was a CELTIC and brought L.A. three championships.
Pierce is the better choice, considering he's not going to play long and he's the smarter veteran player (with a championship) than a volume shooter like nick young. _________________ i drink haterade. and i drink it by the gallons. |

On that note, Pierce probably hates the Lakers, and by L.A. we all know he just wanted to be with Doc Rivers. But I just had to play the devil's advocate. _________________ i drink haterade. and i drink it by the gallons. |

No point in signing Pierce.
You sign him if you want to improve.
The Lakers should sign young guys who showed not much so far but still could improve. Like last year. |

I'm sure that Mitchie Kup's moves are all geared towards acquiring KLOVE, either during the season or next summer. KLOVE is the one we need, not some dime a dozen gunner like Smelo (images of John Starks clanking bricks in game 6, 1994) or LeCramp, with his fondness for misery and the mistake by the lake. There's definitely something mentally wrong with you if you're in the entertainment business and pretend to prefer the Mistake by The Lake to Hollywood.
KLOVE, the Brawney paper towel lumberjack with the two handed chest pass, low post and mid-range game, stretches the D beyond the arc, hits the outlet man lickety split, solid defense, doesn't get into foul trouble, yanks down 20 boards in his sleep, passes out of the double team like Larry Bird, puts up better numbers than Shaq. All of this with cats like Rubio... L to the O L .. oh, and dude never gets hurt!
Mitchie Kup's moves = in line with what the T-Pups need to part w/ White Moses Malone the lumberjack with a 3 point shot. KLOVELAKER14!

Pierce didn't get to come home but he did go to a team on the rise, the Wizards.
I'm noticing players are taking more control of their futures. Many are signing two year contracts with the second year a player option. Deng, James, Pierce and other players of note are doing it.
If this trend continues it might become the norm for super stars. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Not really, the reason for 2 years is so they can re-up under an assumed higher salary cap. There's going to be a likely lockout in 2 yrs and a new CBA _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

You think the owners are going to lock players out and risk losing the advantage they now have with the current CBA? I don't think so.
Elite players have found a way to circumvent the advantage. Non elite players are still at the mercy of the owners.
I like the two year 2nd year player option. It gives the worker a level playing field. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
