Whats the deal with him? I liked how he looked before D'antoni started messing with his minutes...instant offense, good footwork, can score in many ways, fundamentally sound player who lets the game come to him, and still has room to grow.
With all the contracts goin' out this year, I think it would be wise to hand-cuff Marshon for cheap.

What will it be?
I've thought the same thing. Certainly a better value than Young.
Marshon Brooks...after a few years in the league, he's not elevated his game at all... didn't bulk up. didn't add anything to his stock. he's essentially the same player when he came out of college... it's like, he turn into Peter Pan. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. I really don't see anything new to his game... I
he'd be a nice pickup though. but I think the Kings are going to sign him. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. I did like Marshon Brooks too.....not to mention Bazemore. But with Nick Young getting paid by the Lakers, he has effectively been given that 'instant offense' role off the bench. _________________ "We might have had the worst season ever or could have the worst season ever for a Lakers team, but now let's have the greatest comeback that the league has ever seen." - Kobe Bryant
Brooks can't play any defense, not that it mattered on MDA's team. But that's been his problem in the league. Has a knack for scoring, but can't stay on the floor b/c of defense. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
I am not going to rave about the guy or say it will matter much either way, but his numbers are very comparable to Nick Young's--also someone who will matter little in a ~30 win season. Neither played much defense.
This should have never been moved, as were talking about lakers retaining a player from last season .. Not a "rumor" or random free agent were speculating about.

This is rich. Nick Young is far, far worse. Not even close.
In the box score you can find him under DNP - coaches decision.
Or Defense, Not Played.
Brooks has never particularly distinguished himself at the defensive end, but he's not terrible. Certainly far better than Young, and as a bonus, he passes the ball.
Brooks was tied for the best defensive rating on the team among perimeter players (though I'll give Bazemore and Johnson the eye test advantage). As with most of the team under D'Antoni, it was one of his worse marks defensively. Young was tied for the worst with Nash, and it was not the worst defensive rating of his career.
Brooks can do what Young does at a far better value. Young was wasted money.
