What does everyone think about Thompkins? Based on the highlights he looks like he has a nice outside shot. I see he is a 6'10 F, his shot looks so much smoother than Ryan Kelly....

I also see he played for the Clippers last season.

Could the Lakers use him? Does he have a chance?

It would be nice for the PGs to have someone to pass to who can shoot.

Def a camp invite for me. Looks like he recovered from his injury last year.

I like him. Clippers cut him because they were running out of room on their deep roster I believe. He was banged up his rookie season and didn't get much of a chance to prove himself. I have heard him being compared to Brian Cook but with better defense and rebounding.

I'm liking what I see thus far.. dude can post, shoot deep, and board.

Ugh.. Brian Cook! I couldn't stand that kid, especially when he smirked

Invite him to camp, and see how he performs. I've been really impressed so far.

What impresses me about Thompkins is when I think about last season in the summer league the Lakers brought in some guy who had a rep as a three point marksman (I forget his name, he was the brother of an NBA PF)...and the guy just kept throwing up airballs....Was his name Landry?

Thompkins is delivering. I wish he could play Small Forward.

You're thinking of Marcus Landry. If he's 6'10 bring him in. Anyone 6'10 and up bring em on in!!!

from what we currently have on SL, the only guys I'd bring back are Clarkson and Kane, and obviously JR. No one else has really impressed me that much. And please cut Marshall.

lol at cut marshall. marshall still looks like a real pg.

but some of that is due to him being featured in the offense to be the protype pg guy. i really believe they did this because of how bad it has been in the past few spls where our pg play is so horrid you cant even get a feel for what the other guys can do. so at least with kendal running point the other guys will get a lot of passes in the right spots and wont have to be overly selfish and force things.

And I've always thought of Ryan Kelly as the white Brian Cook AKA Cookie Dough AKA Puppy Crap.

We're going full circle here.

Sorry but Kendall is not an NBA player. And will look lost outside of D'Antoni's offense. If he was any good he'd still be on the Suns, cause you know they some themselves some PGs.

In OT of last night's game, Madsen threw out a starting 5 of Marshall, Clarkson, Kane, Thompson, Randle. I actually think all 5 get camp invites.

I saw a dominant scorer.. Looked like in Randles first game he, Randle, sort of glared at him for being a ballhog.. But he was making them..

Trey Thompkins and Mbekwe earned camp invites for sure.

Things that stand out for me.

The NBA game looks too fast for Thompkins. He has a more advanced skill level in the post, but isn't as fluid executing those moves like Duncan.

Mbekwe has the wingspan and decent motor. But the dude barely gets off the floor when he jumps.

Good shot and very fast hands. He has deflected some passes the last two games.
