According to NBA.com, Davis is holding his opponents to 39.9 percent shooting at the rim—better than defensive stalwarts Anthony Davis, Joakim Noah and Serge Ibaka. |

To which extent can we rely on that stat?
Looks very good but could some things favor it compared to Noah Ibaka or Davis?
I don't know the advanced stats enough |

He's a center. The Raptors drafted Valanciunas 5th overall and pushed Davis to PF.... and Memphis had Marc Gasol.
He's been playing out of position basically. Will be interesting to see how he does in his preferred spot. |

Lol. nahh. i like LIN. but i have to like all the lakers not only LIn. that's why i search and i learn how every Lakers's players play, and i found that:
1. Randle is good (hopefully he will not be arrogant kid later on)
2. ED is great to me (i haven't seen him play, but from the youtube. i think he has great hustle and power, i hope he will be success in this franchise)
3. JC hmm.. good
4. Kobe (legendary hero , what else can you say, minus Ego lol)
conclusion : Lakers gets younger and they can run. so PNR would be the best.. and both JC and LIN are good in PnR
So... Excited to be lakersfan now... bravo bravo |

He's pretty thin to be banging around with true centers, no? I think he's a good pickup for the price, but I don't see him playing heavy minutes at the C position. He's actually a bit redundant with Hill and play similar roles. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Had a number of double digit rebound games with 17 as a high. Half way through the season, he pretty much ceased being a rotational player. |
lmao. 17 is nuts. why did he stop getting minutes? probably gasol used more? he's worth a look if the lakers roster is thin.
ps - is jordan hill a good defender and finisher at the rim from PNR? |
Hard to find minutes in a rotation behind Marc Gasol and ZBo, with Koufos taking some minutes at C as well. He was probably considered surplus to requirements after Memphis was able to draft Jarnell Stokes. |
true. from the video it looks like he will compliment PNR with Lin well. he runs the floor and is looking to get ot the rim for the pass or put back. i always thought he had some potential in toronto but like everyone else said, sort of disappeared.
hopefully he beasts. _________________ “We do have a lot in common.

So against the Boogie Cousins, Marc Gasols, Howards, etc., we send Hill/Davis/Sacre to be murdered? I know the trend seems to be against big immobile centers, but I think it's a stretch to think that trio is enough. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

We sutil need a Center. Hill and Davis are PF's that sometimes get minutes at C but we need a real Center.
There are some potentially cheap alternatives on the board Mitch should take a look at... |

Its all about Anthony Davis every team is trying to find players to throw at that beast. I like Hill and Davis they're athletic and are somewhat rim protectors to surround Randle. |

Remember Marcus Camby when he started? Complete flop in his first 4 years because peeps tried to make him a power center when he was rail thin. Once they just let him play and use his main strengths, anticipation and movement, he took off.
Not saying that Ed can become Marcus Camby. But he's that type of player and he was similary misused in his early career... |

I like Ed Davis. Been somewhat following him since his Toronto days.
He was my last pick on my LG fantasy league draft.
I agree that he fills the same position as Jordan Hill. A 4 who can slide to the 5 in certain situations. I don't think he's capable of playing the 5 a whole game though.
We have no more big spots but i still think we need a true Center.
I've been suggesting this for the past few weeks, but I really want Okafor. If he's healthy, he'd be a very very good addition to the team. He's also one of the guys that Kobe has posterized. I'm sure he'll be warmly welcomed.

I guess, but I followed Camby since his college days and in the NBA and Davis isn't that kind of player. Camby was a leaper, shot blocker, and much lengthier than Davis.
Davis is a good insurance plan for Hill if the team plans on trading him. They are actually duplicates IMO. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

It could be a nice change of pace. Instead of seeing our Center getting outworked by guys like Landry and Faried, at least we'll have some high energy guys in there who can come up with some loose balls and Offensive Rebounds.
We'd all prefer to have Shaq in his prime, but this is the best we were able to do after Howard left us at the alter. |

Davis is average to non-existent when he gets few minutes. Give him some burn (28+ minutes) and he'll produce. The trick is how to do that with Randle and Hill ahead of him. |

Ed Davis brings energy, hustle & tenacity to the team. He will be a spark & compliment J. Hill's game well. Davis also plays good defense for his size.
Very good value player. |
