I don't really care for Boozer on this team. He doesn't provide much needed defense, I guess the only positive is some mentoring for Randle and maybe give the rookie a good buffer before trying to make him a full time starter.

Still a consummate professional. Veteran. Very similar to Randle. He'll show him the ropes.

Boozer and Deron Williams were a lethal pick n roll combo.

Now Boozer can run pick n roll with Kobe & Lin.

This will be GOOD. I think LG whines too much.

thats what I think, and also I think he will work well with Randle.

It's a contract year for him, so we know he's going to give 100% effort.

Great great signing, with Lin and Davis, it will kill big time!

I think the Lakers will grab the 3rd spot in West. I think they will just be too dominant inside and Lin - Kobe will crush almost anybody outside.
I only see SAS and OKC before us. LAC and HOU won't make the playoffs, for sure.

GO LAKERS! Best season in a long time, I'm sure of it. Lin, Kobe and Randle at ASG.

I consider myself a pretty optimistic Lakers fan...but...really?

Maybe 3rd in their Conference.....But with this squad we can crack into the Playoffs if Kobe is at 75% of what he was 2 years ago.

Boozer can be a great Mentor for Randle.

Boozer is the ultimate tank commander. Honestly though, it's not a bad signing considering the price we got him for. Dude would be a good mentor for Randle as well, he'll show him some tips on how to succeed while being undersized for a 4

Kobe came off the bench when he was a rookie... He turned out okay...

Apples and Oranges.

Kobe was playing on a squad with Shaq, NVE, and Eddie Jones.

apple and oranges... "we can not predict the future"... Let's watch, enjoy and hope for an amazing season, that's all we can do.

Boozer can give us Zack Randolph type of production. The addition of boozer guarantees we'll have a post option. That way we're not putting too much weight on Randall's shoulders. He's a legit 2nd option on offense.

I know there's a boozer thread but I didn't want this buried there before everyone gets to read it.

Here's another one http://blogs.bulls.com/2014/07/bulls-did-well-by-having-carlos-boozer/
Quote:
Boozer is a prideful man, and though he didn’t show it or cause any team disruption, it was hurtful. I suspect Boozer will be a much better player next season. I’d heard he’s contacted and worked this summer with some of the top big men who have played, including Karl Malone. With so much money available for free agents as players tend to mostly remain with their teams, it’s possible Boozer could earn another substantial contract next summer. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him return next season in good shape and having a productive season.

I agree. I think Boozer will be good for us. I like the pick up.
But I disagree. Those articles aren't good enough to warrant a new thread

If he plays well, he's bolting for the highest bidder for sure. He's done that his whole career. I can't believe he's only 32, he looks and plays like a 36 year old.

If the Bulls thought Boozer was a bad defender, wait till Chicago fans get a taste of Gasol getting pushed around and being driven on.

I knew you'd find a way to criticize Pau in a thread that has nothing to do with him.

I do think that they are pretty similar players - multitalented on offense, completely unmotivated on defense. Unless the stakes are high. Pau defended well enough when we won titles.

Big difference: Pau is tall. Boozer is vertically challenged.

We got spoiled with Shaq, Bynum and even Gasol. Size wise, I think Boozer can compete just fine in the current NBA.

Boozer's agent is Kobe's, ie Pelinka, every guy on Pelinka's list doesn't do discounts and always wants the money.

Pau didn't play tall his last few years here. With Boozer here it'll be like he never left.
