John Ireland on Sportscenter just said Lakers brought Boozer looking at him as a starting center, which he did 8 years ago in the Olympics. Says he also may share some mins on starting PF with Randle but that it won't hinder Randle's mins as much as it would hinder Sacre's much more!

Ireland also continues this on the radio arguing against the Kamanentzky bros.

If he's starting at center, the lane will be like the parting sea for the opposition.

I'd much rather have Davis or Hill manning the middle.

Davis averages 1.6 blks. per 36 and Hill averages. 1.5 blks. Boozer is more of a position defender.

This is just becoming comical. Mitch and Jim are probably the worst GM and Owner duo in all of sports right now.

I would love to put randle next to boozer because he would have to try SUPER hard on defense because of boozers poor D. Boozer play next to noah so he might help randle out a little until we get a d.jordan, drummond, howard, noah, chandler type C

Hill will start at Center, Boozer at PF

You bring Davis in off the bench behind Hill and Randle comes in to back up Boozer. I don't see the sense in starting Randle as a rookie, even Kobe didn't start as a rookie.

It's less of a knock on Boozer than a sad commentary on the state of the Laker roster. Considering Hill's health record and suitability, and Sacre's playing record, there's only bad ideas for center duty this year.

I sure don't see any acceptable natural centers on this roster, not at least any one guy likely to play well as center for most of a season. It sucks. May we aspire to see our Lakers surpass last season's W-L record, or horrors, reach past the 2004-2005 team's level of accomplishment.

You spelled Sixhead wrong.

They could sign Okafor, drop Bob Sacre from the roster.

Sign Kelly, drop Kendall Marshall form the roster.

Then sign Marion to fill the SF hole.

That team would be dangerous as a playoff longshot/punchers chance of a 1st round upset of Spurs or Thunder.

One aspect that a lot of you aren't taking into consideration with Hill's contract is that it actually helps the team if it needs to facilitate a trade because of the large cap number and in essence it's a 1 year deal.

Trading for Love for example requires a significant cap # in return (15 mil).

In the grand scheme of things, Hill should have gotten a multiyear deal elsewhere, he took a big 1 year deal with a large salary. Money to the Lakers really doesn't matter. These types of contracts are valuable trade commodities with the structure of the current CBA.
