What do you guys think?
I prefer Ed Davis to Hill. Longer, more athletic, better defender IMO. More talented as well.
As far as Boozer vs Randle, Im going with Boozer this year only. Year after and beyond, it should be Randle easily. |

Davis can't handle most center, just not enough strength.
So Hill will be a better starting center.
Randle is definitely better than Boozer,
but his style of play might fit well with the 2nd unit.
Boozer can play well with Kobe and Lin. |

Davis over Hill, Randle over Boozer. Kelly over Boozer. I thought this was suppose to be a rebuild? |

Hill has a longer wingspan than Davis and they have the same standing reach. In fact, Randle has the near same wingspan as Hill and Davis with the same standing reach.
I think Jordan Hill is better than Davis and Boozer will be the guy who does most of the heavy lifting this year. Not a bad mentor for a guy like Randle. |

yeah, i can see that. particularly if they don't think he's ready to play in the post, he can do the point forward stuff off the bench. |

Ed Davis over Hill and Randle over Boozer. Randle is way more talented and athletic than boozer. He deserves a starting spot as a rookie. |

What's wrong with letting Randle PROVE he deserves the starting spot? Love LG.
So when Kobe came into his 2nd year and was clearly better than Eddie Jones, how come Kobe didn't get the starting gig? _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

Yup, I think Clarkson, Swaggy P, Randle and Davis off the bench can bring a lot of energy and excitement, and that's exactly what you want from ur 2nd unit.
But during the closing out moments, I would definitely have Randle over Boozer. Like Thibb did with the Bulls, always had Gibson play in the end of the game instead of Boozer. |

I think he is solid. He is strong, quick and athletic....just doesn't have long arms to be a shot blocker. |

It doesn't really matter who starts vs. who comes off the bench as long as we play our best players.
Last year Kaman and Hill should have played more but they weren't stretch 4's like Williams and Kelly which is required in D'Antoni's system.
Hopefully the next coach plays whoever is producing and puts more emphasis on winning games over style of play. |

Thibs did that largely because of defense. If this summer league is any indication you won't be putting Randle in for that. |

IMO at this moment Hill and Randle start. Then Davis and Boozer are the second unit.
Kelly and Sacre will get mins based on match-ups and injuries.
Going to be interesting to see if that is how it plays out and who earns the playing time though. Looking forward to see how Randle develops. He is going to be tough to guard in PnRs or on drives from with Lin and Kobe.
Overall, I am liking the group. Not all-stars or defensive stalwarts but a nice mix of athletic and energetic players. Potentially better rotations then the last couple of years.
They should also be decent rebounding the ball on both ends. |

Hill should play very well at center if we finally get a coach that values rebounding, which Hill is actually phenomenal at (since he's been in LA he's averaged around a 20% rebound rate on both defensive AND offensive rebounds). Would be really nice for this team to have a center that can give you an extra possession every five shots. |

Let's not forget that Eddie Jones was not chopped liver. He was young, athletic, very good player at that time. At this point of Boozer's career he is pretty much almost done. |

C - Hill/Davis
I like Davis more than Hill, but Hill will get the start.
But Hill is most affective in shorter minutes, so I'd like to see Hill/Davis platoon the C spot. Davis can play. He needs a nice chunk of solid, consistent minutes.
And I'm sure Booz, in certain situations, will get some burn at C, too.
PF - Boozer/Randle
Booz will start. He's, obviously, the more experienced PF. Randle will/should be brought along slowly. As beastly as he should end up being, he has much to learn.
Hopefully, Scott can find some minutes for Kelly in there somewhere. His shooting/skills/smarts need be utilized. _________________ Everything. Changes. |

Is that right? So Kobe's rookie season was 1996 and the Lakers won a ring in 2000. Hmmmm _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

Yup, I don't think people here remember how efficient he and D-Will were for the Jazz.
The Lakers were stacked and destroyed them in the playoffs. Don't sell Boozer short, if anything playing fewer minutes the past couple of seasons may have helped him.
At this point I would be happy to see Boozer play around 30 mpg and Randle 15-20 mpg. _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again
