He brings much needed defense and athleticism to the 3 spot and is only being paid a mil. I Don't understand how anyone can hate this signing at all |

Welcome back Wes! Hope he can improve his consistency with a new coach and system and get the most out of his abilities. |

There's a reason Meeks got 6 mil a year and Wes had to take the minimum again. Team should lock him in a room with tape of Bruce Bowen. He has everything he needs to be that. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. I'm fine with this as long as they cut out the "dirty" parts of his Bruce's defense. |

Yep. He needs to become a spot up corner 3 pointer shooter.
And he should never dribble the ball, unless it's dribble right before a dunk.
I wouldnt mind if he gambled on defense once or twice a game. |

Good pick up. Everyone forgets that these guys were starting last year because everyone was injured and they did an ok job under the circumstances. We were asking our bench players who had no business starting to go out and start. Now our second unit can be a second unit. We've upgraded at the point (lin) and the 2(Kobe) and everyone here is complaining.
If this squad can do two things better than last years, then they will be in games more often than not. Protect the ball and rebound.
A change in coaching philosophy may be just what they need... A new coach will be an upgrade too since we might actually play our bigs to there strengths instead of having them shoot 3's. _________________ Thanks,

In the beginning of the season before Kobe came back he was my favorite Laker along with Henry playing good D and making highlight plays like that block on Lillard he had. I kind of soured on him throughout the season but he had his moments. He can be a nice player but he's just inconsistent. Glad he is back.

His defense & athleticism are a plus. He has to become more consistent offensively.
A new coach & a new system may be just what the doctor ordered.
Overall, for the price, he earned another chance. Good luck WJ. |

This move made sense. The team needed a cheap 3 and D small forward in the worst way. |

I like johnson i was always rooting for him to do well last year... i think he will be more engaged next year playing with a better pg in lin and better overall team chemistry... if anything if it doesnt work out we can always trade him for a future pick. |

I think he and X have a no trade clause this next season, though |

That doesn't seem right... the Lakers would never take that risk especially since we can move them during the season or trade deadline... the Lakers want to collect assets... they aren't gonna give there own plaers no-trad clauses. |

I think they get them by virtue of their one-year deals:

Prediction, Wesley Johnson will blossom this year. The guy can play just needs someone to find his manual on switch and turn off that timer that turns it off automatically. |

Offensively he is trash but I don't think he has reached his full potential defensively. He kinda found a role for himself last year despite playing out of position often and being misused as a spot up shooter. |

I like that they brought back Jordan Hill, Wes Johnson, Xavier Henry and Ryno Kelly.
That means that last year you actually did develop some guys and will now reap the rewards by getting them back on the cheap...well except for Hill at least.
Johnson, Henry and Kelly all have a golden opportunity this season as all three should get minutes and should have room on the floor with Kobe out there. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Wes was our most versatile defender last year, defended four positions. He'll make life easier for others. Glad we could get him back for cheap. He needs a coach that will get into his head and keep his motor consistent, otherwise he'll go into Mr Invisible mode for long stretches. Still, the roster needs his D. |
