A very simple question... no one is expecting much however we got better but still have a few weaknesses on our roster that needs to be addressed.... if everything goes all well I expect a 6th seed and a 2nd round appearance. |

You need to add one more option to the poll. Somewhere between NBA Lottery and NBA Playoffs.
That's the option the vast majority of people are going to pick.
Why isn't that there? |

If we were in the East, I can see us getting the 6th seed and possibly making it to the second round. In the West, it's a stretch to even make the playoffs |

A valiant fight for the 8th seed. A much more enjoyable product that plays hard for Scott. More Kobe ( ), a young and developing Randle. Our bigs will play with energy and mobility, no more slouches.
In short, I think we miss the playoffs but we will be playing relevant basketball games up to the very end. I can also see us sneaking into the 8th seed, but that would be surpassing my expectations.
I'm renewing my League Pass.
If you had asked me when MDA was still the coach, I would not have. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Playoff season, 50 wins - and the gradual realization by Kobe and Byron that the "There's only two states in the NBA, winning and misery" philosophy is unhealthy and unrealistic.
50 wins is possible to me, because:
(a) Kobe is supposedly healthy - but even with all his conditioning and skill practice, I'm only expecting him to be a 20/4/4 player, maybe a 23/5/5. Father Time is undefeated, but Kobe was already converting to a below-the-rim game for the past 5 years, anyway.
(b) Lin is infinitely better than anyone we've had at PG the past 6 years... and at his peak in NY, he was, what? A 17 and 6 guy with no one else to demand the ball? Still, that's better on both sides than any single PG we've had in 2 decades.
(c) Boozer is old, defensively slow, and not a stretch 4 - but he is a solid veteran with low-post skills and flat-out muscle that we haven't had since the last titles.
(d) Jordan is athletic, and energetic -- and hasn't averaged more than 30 mins. a night in his career. However, he is one of 2 or 3 guys on this team who can give us 10 boards a night, and that is key to Byron's desired style.
(e) Wes is the only SF we have... but he is also going to be asked to play only that role for the first time in years. Even in Minny, they tried him at the 2 guard. Old-school training and coaching may be best for him.
We may be undersized in places, and held together with duct tape and chicken-wire in others, but we have skill and muscle where we had little of either last year.
50 wins, maybe a 6th seed in the West, and a team that may actually end up doing the best it can do, which is far better than it's done the past 3 seasons.
IF this team plays to its full potential, learning as much as they can and applying the strategies to the best of their intellect and ability and endurance, then I'll be happy. |

If you're not in the playoffs, you're in the lottery. |

Exactly what I was thinking. But since I'm not given that option, I'm going to pick NBA Championship just because I can. |

I expect the team to compete hard every night and develop Randle and Clarkson the right way. Unfortunately, that also means trading as many tradeable assets as they can to acquire future help through draft picks. And in that scenario, another lost season. |

These polls always tend to show the degree rose-colored shades a fanbase is wearing. |

It's funny how a faction of the fanbase expects a championship and the other expects the lottery. LMAO. |

I'm expecting lottery because this is the Western Conference and it is much tougher than the East. If this was the East the Lakers would be a #3-4 seed and could get to the ECF against Cleveland or Chicago.
Western Conference means it would take a herculean effort to make the #8 seed. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

Randle and Clarkson having good rookie years and we get to keep the top 5 pick. Also trading Hill for a draft pick at the trade deadline. Will be fun to watch but still lose a lot of games. I think will end up exactly with the 5th pick in the draft. |

We are Lakers fans...we expect championship every season!!!
Anytime Kobe is on the team, there is a chance to win whether is small or big.

A full season of Kobe and we are in the playoffs.
Yes, count me in as one of the optimists. |

Playoffs! 7th or 8th seed. Then push a higher seed to 6 or 7 games.
- Going to be optimistic that there is a reversal of the horrible injury woes.
- Kobe actually has a decent back -up in Young. Less mpg and a finally playmaking PG. Kobe efficiently provides 22 points/ 7 assts a game.
- Nash plays 12-15mpg. Clarkson develops as the season progresses.
- Front court rotation plays with more energy. Leading to solid defensive rotations and rebounding numbers. Randle earns ROY.
- most importantly good team chemistry. Players buy-in to what Scott will be selling. Hard work, defense, discipline and effort. |

If we make the play-offs it will be one of the top NBA storylines of the year and it would strike fear in Laker haters around the globe. |
