Yes.

They can always cut him to make an example to the rest of the players.

Yes, he got game, he's not expensive and he's young, 25.

Beasely would be an amazing addition to our bench. I predict that we will have the top benches in the league, with Nash, Beasley, Xavier, Randle. Don't be surprised if Scott also has either Swaggy or Boozer getting minutes with the bench mob.

What Beasley needs is a guy like Kobe to put him in his place. If we can get him cheap, then yeah.

Also consider that he adds another solid piece in a potential future package for a real star.

Fine , if he comes, list him behind Wes and Young, he has to earn his minutes with right attitude.

He averaged 15 mins last season... doesn't show any progress to me.

Bottom line is that he has a 10 cent head. You can't fix that. Just another Gerald Green.

nice contradiction.. look what gerald green's been doin' over the past 2 seasons with indiana and phoenix. if gerald green is any indication of what beasley will be, you sign him right now.

Um, credit where credit is due to Byron, but he's no Phil Jackson.

Yes. The team stunk last season, good chemistry not withstanding, and won't sniff the postseason this year, so let's see what he can do. If he blows it, just get rid of him.

I don't get it. We're not winning anything this year so let's just not give a crap? I actually believe in this team and regardless of our chances in the playoffs why make things worse and bring potential drama? I personally wouldn't want randle anywhere near beasely, influencing him in anyway. Sometimes negative influences can really be the key factors in two potentially opposite outcomes within ones life.

No. I said chemistry means very little if you're not winning ballgames. What good did our chemistry do last year? Beasley is one of the best young cheap obtainable talents on the market right now.

I don't buy that a minimum earning bench player like Beasley will have much of a negative impact at all in the locker room. If he acts up you just get rid of him. If he's matured and fits in you get a cheap 25 year old talented scorer with massive potential just like Phoenix got with Gerald Green who had been similarly maligned early in his career.

I didn't realize just how good Beasley was considered until I read this in an article from last year:

"Right now, it appears Beasley is a player for which too much has come too fast. The Chicago Bulls could have easily taken him over Derrick Rose as the No. 1 pick in 2008. Nobody really would have blinked an eye. That’s how much talent he has."

If the Laker's end up offering Beasley a contract, what kind of contingencies would they put in place to punish him for messing up?

take him if he's willing to come at the minimum. won't hurt.

we didn't waste a lottery on him, and we have nothing invested in him. he has no leverage here, so it's either shape up, get with the program, or sit at the end of the bench. we've got nothing to lose other than a roster spot.

scott won't hesitate to sit him if he can't play D, and he would have full support of the front office to do so.

could be very valuable at 10-12min a game, and more if he proves he can contribute with more minutes.

I voted yes. It's not like we are giving up anything to get him or signing him to a long term deal. It would be a 1 year deal for the minimum. If he plays well then he's a bargain, if not then we could simply just cut him.

We give up locker room chemistry imo. Don't want this druggie and history of being a cancer messing with our youngsters, guys like wes, kelly, randle, x.

lol (@) "druggie" cuz he smokes tree smh

And Ron gave us something we needed:

Toughness and defense

When his defense slipped, he wasn't as useful on the court anymore.

If he can't get his act together for the Miami Heat under Lebron in a championship quest ... then why should the Lakers feed him for a year in a rebuilding year
