i actually wanted to see the USA face Spain, to prove yet again they cant touch the USA. Pau was balling but he would disappear playing against Cousins, Davis, and Faried

This game against Lithuania is more interesting to me with Spain losing. I didn't think the US would bring its A game. It's only a 2 point game right now.

3 fouls on Harden is a good thing.

US was up 43-35 at halftime.

The US starts the 2nd half on a 10-0 run so its 53-35.

Edit: 57-37 with 7:30 left in the 3rd.

It's over. When the US get up by 15-20 I never see a comeback.

Thanks for the score update!

And Klay has been on my radar since his rookie season. I wish there was a way to pry both he and Barnes from GSW

As long as they outscore the opponent who cares if they all can't defend.

This game is over in the first quarter; what a joke. This should be USA v. Spain, then it might have been entertaining.

Serbia had a 2-3 record in the group stages. Pathetic. I know they played very well after that but I think France, Greece or Brazil (all teams they beat in the knockout stages) would have made this game more interesting.

Oh well, there's not much that the USA can do besides going out and taking advantage of this.

This is the first time a team won every game by at least 20 points. The media made it sound like they could lose a couple of games.

Sounds like a boring tournament for the US. Like watching the Spurs play the Heat in the Finals this year except the rest of the world was never really in it.

I never really understood the comments about euro teams stopping fast breaks. NBA teams foul just as much only FIBA's rules make it magnitudes easier to get 2 shots and the ball out of it, if the NBA's clear path foul mirrored FIBA's non play on the ball, teams would be shooting clear path twice a game.

All in all..

Team USA surprised positively. How does coach K get all of them play D? And a team D. I'd like to see that kind of attitude from the Lakers....
The 3 pt shooting in the final game was just ridiculous.

Lihtuania went down when the injuries hit them before the tournament. I'm actually surprised they got so far.

Another surprise team - Serbia. Mitch, are you there? Raduljica is a free agent. And please, bring Bjelica to the Lakers while you are at that.
Strange how Serbia coasted in the group phase and then just turned it on and went to the finals. Too bad they lasted only 4 minutes there...

Spain - the major underachiever. With that kind of squad they just lost it mentally. No concentration. They forgot nothing is given to them. I expected USA might make this kind of mental mistake, but they did not. I expected Spain to be stronger, but they were not. Probably a bad coaching needs to be added too.

Talking about coaching - Collet and Djordjevic both had quite a tournament! But so did K.

Irving was nuts. I've never been all that impressed with him in the NBA, but damn if he wasn't crazy good in the tournament.

He seems to play well in exhibition like games (of course FIBA finals wasn't one), but where he is teamed up with all-star level players. Plus, he only played like 18-20 minutes a game.

Problem for Irving has been about durability. He hasn't played a full season let alone a full season and a grueling road to the Finals.
