Get well, PG. |
Windhorst said it was 2 feet 2" closer. |
WOW. That's downright negligent. If the arena can't accommodate basic things like that, don't play there. |

But he's still out for the season its the Beginning of August he'd be back around the time of the Super Bowl by then the Pacers will not even be in contention no reason to rush him back(he wouldn't be 100%) anyways. |
My thoughts exactly.
February is the 6th month recovery, and does than even include NBA training?
If it doesn't I'd expect him back by April, if you factor in precaution by the Pacers.
Maybe they would want him to get some NBA action before the 2015-16 season, bring him back for 10 games in April. |

According to T&M director Mike Newcomb the basket stanchion was 8 feet from the edge of the court. I have to admit it does seem shorter. |

Isn't Summer League played there? It was at UNLV's stadium. |

I kind of hope that the Pacers are rewarded by this with a top pick (Stanley Johnson) in 2015. They deserve it more than Cleveland The franchise needs a break after the brawl and now this. Wish Paul George and the Pacers the best of luck! |

Pacers Paul George suffers lower leg fracture. In the absence of nerve injury this injury should heal well after surgery. 6 month recovery. |
|
Wow. That's not nearly as bad as I thought. |
Anderson Silva broke his leg like that several months ago and he's about to go back in the Octagon and smash some sap's face in. |

Hope and pray for a quick recovery. Also for an immediate change in equipment standards for the basket supports. |

Poor guy. You grow up playing thousands of hours in nice, but also (bleep), slippery outdoor courts, under the rain, risking your legs, dunking on people, landing one inch away from two or three guys´feet, then competing at the highest level with pros...and it is a friendly game what kills you...
I don´t know. I don´t really think you can come back at a superstar level after this, but I hope I´m wrong.
Damn it... |

Get well soon PG.
One thing I will say, super impressed how he kept his composure after the injury. He didn't freak out as bad as LBJ did with his "cramps". George has alot of character and grit. He'll be back by seasons end. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Adrenaline is one hell of a drug...trust me...no one would be able to stay composed with that type of injury if not for adrenaline _________________ 2008-2009 NBA CHAMPIONS ------Your LOS ANGELES LAKERS!!

Since they're reporting no ligament damage, he'll be fine once the bone heals. With that sort of injury, usually ligaments and tendons are getting pretty badly damaged, but he seems to have been lucky enough to avoid that. |

That is (bleep) awful, and the way the broken end slams straight into the floor from the landing.. _________________ "There's only 2 dudes better than me, and I'm BOTH OF THEM." |

It's the nerve damage that would be a worry. Look at Nash. His leg is fine. |

around his ankle at his age? highly unlikely
He'll probably be weight bearing within 3 months if not sooner. |

Anderson Silva broke his leg in half, and was back to full training 6 months later.
Kobe's achilles tear was much worse than both. |
Ware was back to playing basketball like 7-8 months later
Kobe's achilles injury was much worse, because he completely ruptured it and it took him over 8 months just to get back in practice and he looked slow as hell.
It will take PG around 8 months to get back to practicing, which is some time around March/April and quite some time to get his strength back in his leg.
I don't think the injury will haunt him or force him to hold back, it was just an unfortunate landing to the padding underneath the basket, which was way too close to begin with. Thank god the NBA does not have that.
Maybe it was a blessing in disguise? He would have landed badly even without crashing into the padding, could have been more Livingston-esque...Just wishing him a speedy recovery. _________________

Horrendous. Drifts is right, I watched that Anderson Silva fight live, same feeling. Really disturbing.
On another note, the Lebron to CLE story just got more interesting. With Miami still good but not great, Indiana was the most likely team to advance to the Finals. Now with this? The East is truly any team's to take. If CLE trades for Love, they may actually make the NBA Finals in year 1. Let the LBJ/ESPN love just continue ever after |

Ankle?
And nerves are nerves. If they were damaged, they're damaged. Being young doesn't make your nerves immune to damage. |
