I'd have to say back to back 40 pt games. But I think he'll get both! _________________ “There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.” ―Bruce Lee
i think mamba's got a virtuoso performance inside him--one night where he just goes nutty. but with his age and injuries i think consistently elite performances are going to be harder to come by so i think the one time is more probable than back to back.
50-point game is more likely, in my opinion. I'm not betting on it, but it could happen. All the great players I've ever seen, going back to Kareem, were able to pull a monster game out of their butts now and then, even when their careers were well into decline. However, the ability to sustain energy over multiple consecutive games is exactly what old players lose as they decline. They may have had 5 good games out of 6 when they were young, but later are able to only play 3 good games out of 5, and it continues to decline like that. That's just good games. The monster 40- and 50-point games are even rarer, but they can still happen. Back-to-back is less likely, though.

I believe there are too many talented scorers on the team for him to have to carry that'll much of a load. That's the only reason I feel neither will happen. That said, I believe a single burst of 50+ is more likely... due to him possibly being team fed on having the hottest of hands one night. _________________ Blood, sweat, tears,

I think a 50 point game is well in Kobe's possibly, a back to back maybe not so likely. Though i can see him have large bursts of points every once in a while like have maybe a 40 point game here, and then in like 4 or 5 games later put up maybe another 40 or close to that point game. Though to do it back to back i don't think so. I also hope he doesn't have to do that much work, because that would mean he is straining his body again to have to carry so much.
I think Kobe will go for 100 _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold & contain life, but the quality of life doesn't change. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."
I am assumming kobe will be healthy for the most part of the season. He may not get back to back 40-point games but it's not unreasonable to give him a vote of confidence that he will likely have multiple 40-plus games. But am not sure about 50 0r more point games. _________________ Kobe's Top 5 Dunks, 81 points, MJ last gm @Staples
He'll have a barrage of 40 point games somewhere this season and play similar in style to his 2012-2013 season. _________________ Whenever the Lakers benefit all of a sudden rules need to be changed and trades need to be blocked.

KOBE 2.0 - I'm gonna cut my wrists... Whatever... I don't care this sucks and I hate life.
Orestes - Guess that's one way to find out if you really bleed purple & gold.
Why isn't neither in this poll? Why are there so many faulty polls? lol
I don't think Kobe has scored 50 or more in over half a decade. And the last season he was healthy, he only scored 40 or more back to back once. That was 2 seasons ago and it took playing 42 mins per game to get there.
I'd be really pleasantly surprised if he scores 40 even once this year. And if he does do it, it'll have to be one of those games where he is on fire from beyond the arc because he won't be getting high percentage looks nor the proper minutes to post a 40 pt type of effort.
I think it'll happen early in the season against a team with poor defense. He'll want to prove to everyone that he still has it.
I could see him getting anywhere from 45-60 points a couple times.
The last time he scored in the 45-60 range, he played all 48 mins.
You project that early in the season, Kobe is going to play nearly the entire game against a poor team after Byron Scott just said he would monitor his minutes?

Is this your hope, or the output of an analysis?
It's all hoping at this point...
Ok, that makes more sense. There's usually a discrepancy for me too on things I want to happen versus what I think will happen =)
I really wish we weren't so focused on how many points Kobe will score because the only way he gets to gaudy point totals, is by playing gaudy minutes. The same people that blamed MDA for playing Kobe too many minutes, now want Kobe to play too many minutes? I don't get it.

he'd probably have to hit around 8 threes to get 50 so if he hits a few early anything can happen honesty. i wouldn't count it out but i'd say 50 is more likely than b2b 40

Really?
He hasn't hit the 50 mark in over half a decade.
He had back-to-back 40 in his last healthy season (2012-2013) and the season before that too.
