Doing my first LIVE draft next Saturday, 10 teams - $50 entry.
The past few years everything has been online in the comfort of my own home so this is foreign territory for me. Same league last year I came in 2nd place. I think I won $150.

I am just barely starting to do my "research" and get my picks situated.

Thought we could use a thread to share any info on studs / sleepers / duds we should target or avoid.

Last year I picked up Zac Stacy at RB at around Week 6. He helped get me to the championship game However I think he might suffer thru a sophomore slump this season and IMO should be avoided early.
I would also avoid Doug Martin (RB) , CJ Spiller (RB) , Crabtree (WR) , D. Jackson (WR) , P. Harvin (WR) and Lynch (RB)

As far as potential "sleepers" or guys NOT in many projected top 5-10+ at their position.... I like
QB -M. Ryan (bounce back year) / A. Dalton / R. Tannehill
RB- Ridley / L. Bell / B. Brown (Buf) / T. Mason (StL)
WR - Britt (StL) / Hilton / Stills

Look forward to venting my frustration this year when the guys on my bench outscore my starters by 100 points, or when I lose by half a point because of a meaningless late game fumble.

Chris Johnson, he feels he has something to prove. And the Jets will run the ball.

Later round picks I like. Basing this off of a few mocks I've done:

Rashad Jennings: Round 6-7. If he falls this far, i would snatch him up in a heartbeat.

Ray Rice: In yahoo his ADP is like Round 9-10, which is crazy. I don't like him that much, but for that value, I'd take him there.

Kendall Wright Rd 6-7- very consistent with points/yds which you want from WR, and hopefully can add more TD's this year. Excellent flex/3rd wideout or bench option.

Tom Brady : Round 9-10: Should have weapons back and young receivers more developed. Nice get for later in draft if working other positions earlier

Super sleeper: Jarrett Boykin Rd 12-14: James Jones to Oak. He performed well last year, esp when Rodgers was around. I got to think he sees the field, and both Cobb/Nelson have injury history as well.

Late rd RB stashes or handcuffs: Hyde (I wouldnt draft Gore)/Michael (must cuff for Lynch owners)

Indeed. Hoping I'm wrong about Stacy. And hoping the Rams make some noise this season!

Just drafted last weekend in my only money league. Picked 10th in a 10 team league...

QB - M. Ryan / A. Dalton
RB - L. Bell / R. Rice / A. Williams (NYG) / D. freeman (ATL) / T. Mason (StL)
WR - D. Thomas / J. Jones / A. Brown / G. Tate / T. Williams (DAL) / M. Floyd (ARI)
TE - K. Rudolph (MIN)
DEF - Cincinnati

No Kicker yet... Will probably drop a WR or RB at the last minute.

I went WR heavy and scored 3 top 10 WRs. Bell is top 10 and I got Rice in like round 4 or 5. Not a bad gamble. Im hoping for one of my dark horse RBs to get playing time due to an injury.. and I may try to trade a WR for a RB if I can. I think I'll be OK.

Try to get at least one of the top six backs: AP, forte, Charles, McCoy , Lacy and Lynch. Zach Stacy is a sleeper. Plenty of wideouts out there and sneak Julius Thomas at TE in early. Like having a third starting wideout.

I play in an 8 team league and we just did our offline draft, was a lot of fun, I think I did ok too as most reached for their QBs. Landed the 6th overall pick, then happily watched as AP slid into my arms, and then was there again to gratefully scoop up Matt Forte in the second round

QB: Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick
RB: Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Arian Foster, Ray Rice & Trent Richardson
WR: Julio Jones, Keenan Allen, Eric Decker & Kelvin Benjamin
TE: Antonio Gates & Tyler Eifert
K: Nick Novak
DEF: Denver Broncos

If this was 2 years ago, I'd have an unbelievable collection of running backs, but as it is I've taken a gamble on Foster, Rice & Trent.

Got weak TE group compared to some in my league, but I'm hoping Eifert can become a surprise package, and hoping the same of Kelvin Benjamin at the WR spot, though I'm comfortable with Jones & Allen to start there.

I hope you picked up Ladarius Green. Love your RBs and WRs but everything else is garbage.

Me, I'd avoid unless I get good value. He's just been too disappointing for too long.

I do agree though that the Jets will run the ball.

Someone else drafted him. TEs were my last picks except DEF & K, spent all my good picks on RBS & WRs, then picked up Cam & Kap late too.

10 Team PPR

QB/2RB/2WR/Flex/TE/D

QB: Colin/Romo
RB: Charles/Morris/Deanglo/MJD
WR: Nelson/Roddy/Watkins/T. Williams/Steve Smith
TE: Gronk
D: Pats
K: Greg the Leg

i don't trust either of QBs

12 Team Standard

QB/2RB/2WR/Flex/TE/D

QB: Aaron Rodgers/Jonny Football
RB: AD/Giovani/Bishop/Deangelo/Devonta
WR: Roddy/Percy/Mike Wallace/R. Woods/T. Austin
TE: Eric Ebron (i think he will be a stud)
D: Chiefs
K: Phil Dawson.

I like my chances more on my 12 team league than my 10 team ppr league.

Personally, I don't like either of your teams. Who are you playing at flex in your 10-team league? Mike Wallace? Bishop Sankey? If Sankey starts and can hold on to the ball, he might be a good flex play with RB2 upside, but lots of question marks there.

Your starting RBs are good, but I don't like Roddy White as a WR1 and Percy Harvin is more of a WR3 with upside to WR2.

TE is very weak as it is more of a gamble. Ebron has sleeper potential, but he's a rookie on a team with a lot of receiving options (Bush/Bell/Megatron/Tate) and competition at TE as well (Fauria/Pettigrew).

QB is weak in the 10-team league and I don't like Morris in a PPR league as my RB2. Plus, I think Helu will be starting for them by mid-season with Shanahan out of there but that's just a guess.

Randall Cobb will get over 100 catches and 10tds. The packers lost Jones and Finely on offense, if he stays healthy he will have a huge year !!

if you have:

AJ Green vs ATL
Brandin Cooks @ CLE
Victor Cruz vs ARI
Deandre Hopkins @ OAK
Kelvin Benjamin vs DET
Tavon Austin @ TB

which 3 receivers would you start?

im thinking green & cooks for sure. Cruz im iffy about. who would i replace Cruz with? benjamin is an intriguing rookie wideout..and Hopkins seems like he's due to break out. Benjamin or Hopkins...idk, what you guys think??

I have Bell and Antonio Brown in tonight's game. Hopefully the Ray Rice stuff doesn't play any part in the calls/outcome.
