Pau has always looked really good when he plays for his nat'l team.

In terms of international basketball, the talent is still concentrated in the US. There will be the Argentina, Spain, Lithuania, Turkey, etc that can give them for a run for their money. But the rest of the world is still pretty mediocre compared to what Pau faces on the NBA level.

Hopefully this experience helps him to get better. It can't hurt either way.

Pau's the ex-girlfriend who busts her ass to look amazing after your breakup because she knows she'll see you again and wants you to eat crow.

Not surprised he destroyed Sacre. Just like I won't be surprised if he makes the all star team this year.

I know, right?

Remember in the Olympics when Pau was literally toying with the other bigs. He had handles like a guard and actual LIFT in his jump shot. NBA season started and its same ol' same ol'

Lol people act like Olympic Pau is prime Wilt or something. Has he really been doing things in international play that he doesn't do in the NBA?

Pau plays with more effort and energy on his national team than he did on the lakers flat out.

They only reason we keep Sacre is because we need big insurance.

I'd bet there are some C's in the D-League that would do better than him.

There are not. Sacre is a young defensive and healthy 7 footer and we have him for two more years at under a million a season. That's value. You have to pick and choose your assets very carefully under this new CBA. Young 2nd round picks who can actually give minutes as reserves are worth their weight in gold because of the dirt cheap long term deals you can get on them. If they work out and get better, you are extremely fortunate.

Maybe, but he's OUR backup center, we drafted him, we have him under contract for two more years at an abslutely dirt cheap price, every coach says he works very hard to get better and is a very nice guy, so supporting him and hoping he continues to get better is absolutely the right thing to do.

Sacre finished off the European friendly matched against #15 ranked Angola and ended up with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and I can't figure out the rest of the stats.

Canada won that game btw.

I guess in your world 8 games played over a a period of a couple of weeks is the same as 82 games played over a period of seven months?

I'm fine with keeping Sacre around. He's on a dirt cheap contract, is a good guy and works hard. He won't kill us (nor is it likely he substantially elevate the team). Nice to have some continuity.

Sacre just can't handle Pau or most talented centers in the league. He's nothing more than a third string center the lakers may have to use second.
