We have had a few names kicked around ( Payton,etc.). BUT NOTHING OFFICIAL. When will we have an official announcement or two.

* Larry Drew has joined the CAVS staff.

When all the ducks are lined up in a row. Mitch Kupchak, "We will announce no announcement before it's time."

I'm glad this thread is "official" because if it wasn't people might be posting mindless speculation and unsubstantiated rumors.

How about "UNOFFICIAL?"

MINDLESS SPECULATION IS ALWAYS WELCOME.

When Scott was hired wasn't Paul Pressey mentioned?

Have to think Madsen and Johnny Davis will continue to have a role.

I need more rumors and speculation!

Let the bulls run.

I would mindlessly speculate Mad Dog will be on the list.

Robert Horry was also mentioned? Any news on them?

Quote:
The Los Angeles Lakers have reached out to Robert Horry about the possibility of becoming an assistant coach under Byron Scott, according to the Los Angeles Times' Mike Bresnahan.

Oh I know Horry was actually mentioned, I was sort of joking and in retrospect should have quoted only the one above you and not been sloppy and left you out instead. Edit: I can't blame anyone for being frustrated that all we can do is speculate. The hire happened late so I can't expect the bench to all be in place by now anyway.

Cooper was also discussed. Any reality to him moving over to the NBA?

Lawrence Frank was an assistant at one point. Pressey was also. Any other vet coaches that have worked with Scott that he would reach out to?

Funny how there has been zero rumors about his choices this past week.

Since this is the unofficial thread, my hiring predictions are:

Dr. Charles Xavier
Neil DeGrasse Tyson
John Wooden's brain

These guesses may change in the official assistant coaching thread.

They definitely seem to be waiting on Coop to finish up his season in the WNBA before announcing the official coaching staff.

I would bet he would be on it. I would love to see Kareem back working with the team, if not officially on the coaching staff.

Coop, Johnny Davis, Scott Jr. and Horry or Payton

should round out the official staff. I suspect Madsen will remain in same role as last year.

Scottie is a senior advisor for the Bulls. He won't go for the assistant coaching gig again.

Cooper is head coach of a team on the other side of the country. Why would he leave all that behind to become an assistant?? Makes no sense
